Job Summary:

The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for providing legal guidance, operational support and advisory across a broad range of matters, including contracts, regulatory, privacy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry, and has been in an in-house role, with experience in MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) reviews, TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) compliance, data privacy and regulations within pharmaceutical marketing,

 

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Serve as internal counsel on a variety of general legal matters, including compliance, contract review, commercial agreements, corporate governance, etc.
  • Manage and coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, regulatory, and transactional matters.
  • Advise in coordination with outside counsel on TCPA compliance, data & privacy laws, and any related regulatory requirements in the context of HCP engagement and pharma marketing
  • Proactively monitor and interpret laws, regulations, and industry guidelines affecting the business.
  • Help build and improve internal processes to mitigate legal risk and ensure compliance.

Experience:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
  • 5+ years of legal experience, with a mix of in-house and/or law firm background.
  • Comfortability working in a fast-paced and rapid-decision making environment
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with or within pharma or life sciences, particularly in a marketing, compliance, or regulatory capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of TCPA, data privacy laws, and digital marketing regulations.
  • Familiarity with MLR review processes and pharmaceutical industry promotional standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
