Corporate Communications Specialist

About the role

The Corporate Communications Specialist plays a critical role in shaping clear, timely, and human communications for both employees and customers during moments that matter, ranging from strategic initiatives and organizational updates to issues, incidents, and change. This role sits at the intersection of strategic communications and internal communications, combining strong writing and execution skills with sound judgment, stakeholder partnership, and the ability to operate effectively in fastmoving, ambiguous environments. With an AI‑first mindset, you’ll thoughtfully integrate generative AI and automation into our communications workflows to improve speed, consistency, and impact—while keeping every message human, empathetic, and grounded in sound judgment. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable planning proactive communications and responding quickly when priorities shift. You will partner closely with People & Culture, Product, Customer Success, Legal, and executive leadership to ensure communications are aligned, accurate, and grounded in empathy—always prioritizing trust, clarity, and the employee and customer experience.

What you’ll do

Strategic & Issues Communications

  • Support the development and execution of communication plans for strategic initiatives, organizational change, natural disasters, operational updates, and product transitions, incidents, and issues.
  • Draft clear, concise messaging that translates complex or evolving information into easy-to-understand communications for multiple audiences.
  • Craft rapid-response communications for time-sensitive situations, including internal updates and, when needed, customer-facing messaging.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs, assess risk, and align on messaging, timing, and audiences.
  • Help elevate risks, dependencies, or misalignment that could impact communication effectiveness or trust.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

  • Draft and deliver internal communications across channels including email, Microsoft Teams, intranet, leader talking points, presentations, and all-employee meetings.
  • Support executive and leader communications by developing talking points, FAQs, and messaging guidance that leaders can confidently cascade.
  • Manage and support internal communications campaigns tied to People & Culture initiatives, company priorities, and culture programs.
  • Assist with planning and execution of all-employee meetings, including content development, Q&A coordination, and follow-up communications.
  • Serve as a communications partner to internal teams, advising on message clarity, tone, and channel selection.
  • Manage email setup and sends in the internal communications platform, Staffbase.

Project Management & Execution

  • Project manage communications workstreams end-to-end, from intake and planning through review, approval, and delivery.
  • Coordinate reviews and approvals across stakeholders to ensure accuracy, alignment, and timeliness.
  • Maintain visibility into upcoming communications and help manage prioritization in highly reactive periods.
  • Use work management tools (Asana) to track requests, deadlines, and dependencies.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor engagement and feedback across internal communications channels.
  • Help evaluate what’s working, identify opportunities to improve clarity or reach, and apply learnings to future communications.
  • Leverage generative AI to improve speed and scale, continuously exploring and responsibly piloting new AI capabilities to enhance outcomes while upholding high standards for judgment, accuracy, and tone

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of experience across corporate, internal, or strategic communications, with exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to operate in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments, handling sensitive, confidential, and time‑critical communications with sound judgment.
  • AI‑first communicator, leveraging generative AI and automation to accelerate planning, drafting, and execution while applying human judgment and accountability.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, able to juggle competing priorities and partner effectively across functions and senior leadership.
  • Collaborative, curious, and action‑oriented, with comfort navigating ambiguity and driving effective solutions.
  • Preferred experience in Asana or other work management platforms.
