About The Position

 

The Copywriter will join the Picksy marketing team at People Inc. and will be responsible for the creation of all copy to market Picksy. This role requires someone who is fluent in direct response copywriting. They will craft high-converting marketing messaging for a variety of channels, including but not limited to email, social, and onsite, with the goal of acquiring new users.

The ideal candidate understands direct response fundamentals and knows that great copy starts with understanding the audience and the offer—not clever wording.

You'll work closely with the marketing team, designers, and product to develop, test, and optimize messaging that increases acquisition, activation, and retention.This role will report to the Head of Marketing.

 

Your day-to-day:

  • Write high-performing direct response copy for all Picksy channels and assets, including website landing pages, ads, email, SMS, social, partnership placements, and onsite

  • Conceive, pitch, develop, and test new hooks and offers in messaging, including evergreen and timely ideas

  • Craft messaging and offers tailored to different audience segments and channels

  • Analyze campaign performance and iterate based on results

  • Collaborate with designers to ensure copy and creative work together effectively

  • Build and maintain a library of winning messages, headlines, offers, and customers insights

  • Identify messaging opportunities through platform insights and performance data

This position is hybrid in-office.

Picksy is a new product that helps shoppers save, track, and organize items they discover anywhere in their daily lives—all in one place. Users can save products from anywhere, organize and share collections, get deal alerts, and instantly save any item they want to come back to later with a text.

70% Copy creation: Pitching, writing, and developing copy for all Picksy social channels

20% Strategic research and data analysis to stay up to date on platform trends and content performance

10% Cross-team collaboration with designers and product to ensure copy and creative work together

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and/or experience.

 

Experience:

  • 3+ years direct response copywriting

  • Proven experience writing copy that drives measurable results

  • Experience crafting copy for a variety of channels, including websites, email, and paid ads

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conversion-focused work

 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Strategic and able to translate goals into content that drives signups

  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities; able to organize, multi-task, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • A proactive, highly collaborative self-starter that’s comfortable partnering across teams and levels

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, startup-style environment with shifting priorities

  • Familiarity with shopping and commerce

  • Strong understanding of customer psychology and consumer behavior

  • Ability to develop messaging from customer research and insights

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $80,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
