SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Supports engineering and maintenance in the development of standards and specifications, including a complete purchase parts list related to controls systems. Provides technical support for controls systems during the introduction of new and reuse equipment. Supervises the assembly and installation as well as assembles and installs new equipment. Ensures proper controls specific documentation delivery from the Original Equipment Manufacturer and maintains documents (E.g., electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display, operator interface, robot programs, machine power distribution, equipment FMEA, safety, machine specifications, and new or modified equipment acceptance documents), throughout equipment life cycle, and documenting any changes during that time. Plans the updates, modification, and continuous improvement of the existing controls systems including: robotic programs, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and control Design and write advanced electrical controls programs as required. Provides technical support to the Production and Maintenance Department for resolving PLC controls and robotic systems issues. Documents equipment breakdown/activity in electronic database and provides reports as requested. Uses reports to analyze opportunities for improvement schedules and completes back-ups of all electronic machine control and robotic programs on a set schedule. Install and maintain all plant floor machine controls to Ethernet gateways, links and connections; maintains all sub machine control data highways and coordinates and supports with the plant floor Ethernet machine drop routing and Ethernet message traffic control Inspects equipment conditions utilizing established Preventative Maintenance procedures Plan and lead cross-functional project teams supporting activities related to controls issues. Provide leadership and direction to Maintenance personnel during equipment downtime situations, and coordinate with the Assembly management team Responsible for the development of material and the technical training of all Maintenance personnel in the area of controls systems. Ensures compliance with national Electrical Code and OSHA standards, and ANSI/RIA. Incorporate customer specific requirements into the build process. Other manufacturing engineering tasks as required.

Minimum 5 years of progressive controls or assembly/maintenance related experience.
Skills and Competencies
Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) an asset. Work experience with: Allen Bradley, Fanuc, ABB, RS Logix, FTView, Panelview, or other HMI and Ethernet controls systems is required. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Create, read, understand and modify electrical prints and specifications. Industrial Safety Standards, OSHA, ANSI, RIA standards is an asset. Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload. Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate a maturity of judgment, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function. Excellent math skills with the ability to analyze data. Ability to demonstrate and use Microsoft Office and ACAD. Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements. Must be able to interact effectively with other team members. Good working knowledge of core tools and customer specific requirements or have the ability to learn these requirements within the MSH specified time frame. Ability to use Microsoft Project and Minitab is an asset.
