What you’ll be doingWe’re looking for a highly motivated legal and compliance professional to join Nuvation Bio’s Legal Team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for:
- the day-to-day administration of Nuvation’s contract management system and learning management system
- compliance operational support related to training, HCP engagement, and other processes as needed
- routine contract review and administration (e.g. CDAs, template agreements)
- collaborating closely with other Nuvation legal team members and key stakeholders including clinical operations, regulatory, R&D, finance, human resources, commercial, and external parties.
Contract Operations
- Manage the full contract lifecycle across the organization, including intake, review coordination, workflow routing, tracking, and signature execution for a variety of agreements (e.g., CDAs, MSAs, SOWs, consulting agreements, research/vendor agreements).
- Serve as the primary operational liaison between internal teams and the Legal department to ensure contracts move efficiently through required review and approval processes.
- Maintain and optimize the contract management system, ensuring accurate metadata, version control, document integrity, and contract analytics reporting.
- Ensure that contracts reflect appropriate business justification, fair market value (FMV) assessments where applicable, and alignment with healthcare compliance standards for interactions with external partners.
- Oversee document management, contract repository organization, and audit-ready recordkeeping in accordance with internal policies and healthcare compliance expectations.
- Collaborate with Finance to support PO initiation related to contract commitments.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve contract operations workflows, templates, and system utilization.
Compliance Operations
- Support day-to-day administrative activities for the Healthcare Compliance function, including documentation management, timely filing, organizing compliance records, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
- Coordinate the collection, tracking, and entry of key compliance data such as HCP engagements, FMV documentation, business justifications, and related approvals.
- Maintain compliance tracking tools, logs, and databases by ensuring information is updated, accurate, complete, and aligned with internal documentation standards.
- Assist in coordinating internal reviews, spot checks, and monitoring activities by preparing files, compiling supporting documents, and organizing follow-up items.
- Manage compliance training logistics, including tracking completions, maintaining rosters, filing certificates, scheduling refresher trainings, and updating systems.
- Maintain version control and file organization for policies, procedures, SOPs, and guidance documents to ensure teams have access to the most current materials.
- Assist with onboarding processes related to compliance by ensuring new hires receive required materials, training assignment tracking, and integration into compliance systems.
- Support periodic compliance communications by preparing drafts, filing communications, and ensuring documentation is properly archived.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Paralegal certification or equivalent experience may be considered
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, healthcare compliance operations, or legal operations preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems (e.g. Ironclad)
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple simultaneous priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across Commercial, Legal, Medical, Finance, and Compliance teams
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
