Position Overview
At Colibri Group, we empower licensed professionals to achieve more in their careers—and we’re scaling fast. We’re looking for an experienced Contracts Specialist to join our Legal, Regulatory & Compliance team. This is a strategic role responsible for owning the full contract lifecycle for high-impact commercial agreements, including B2B partnerships, vendor contracts, and licensing deals.
You’ll be the go-to expert for legal drafting, negotiation, and risk mitigation, partnering closely with teams across the business to support smart growth as we scale toward $1B in revenue. If you thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and enjoy making legal complexity feel seamless, this could be your next big opportunity.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including B2B partnership, vendor, licensing, and service contracts.
- Customize contract language to align with business goals, legal standards, and risk tolerance.
- Manage redlines and lead contract negotiations with external partners, vendors, and legal counsel.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Partnerships, Product, Finance, Marketing, HR) to ensure contracts meet business needs and support company growth.
- Lead or support negotiation of complex terms such as indemnity, limitation of liability, data privacy, and termination clauses.
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle—from intake and stakeholder alignment to execution, retention, and renewal tracking.
- Maintain accurate version control, metadata, and contract records to ensure audit readiness and performance tracking.
- Monitor key contract milestones, expirations, and renewals to ensure compliance and timely action.
- Train internal teams on contract processes, best practices, and legal concepts in plain, business-friendly terms.
- Identify potential legal and compliance risks in agreements and proactively recommend solutions.
- Support go-to-market strategies and partner onboarding by advising on contract structures that scale.
- Contribute to the improvement of contract templates, fallback clauses, and negotiation playbooks.
- Help evaluate and implement automation or AI-enhanced tools to improve efficiency in the contract lifecycle.
- Track and report on contract-related KPIs like turnaround time, volume, and policy alignment.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- 5–10 years of experience in a contracts-focused legal role, with expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Demonstrated success in a private equity-backed, high-growth, or fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools; bonus if you’ve worked with AI-enhanced CLM systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, or a related field required; Paralegal certification or JD preferred.
- Excellent redlining, document management, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance legal risk with business opportunity—thinking commercially and strategically.
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
Colibri Group welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and experiences, and we understand that not every candidate will meet every requirement listed in the job description. Research has shown that women and people of color may be less likely to apply to jobs unless they feel they meet every qualification, and we want to actively combat this bias in our hiring process. If you're excited about the role and believe you have the skills and experience to contribute to our team, we encourage you to apply, even if your background doesn't align perfectly with every qualification listed. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we believe that diversity of perspectives and experiences is essential to our success.
