This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.
The Continuing Legal Education Coordinator will manage firmwide CLE compliance function, including relationships with licensing entities (states and bar associations), submission of CLE reports, applications, and tracking of CLE status for all Firm lawyers, and provide general support to the Professional Development team. Essential functions include:
- Apply for CLE accreditation for Firm events (both in person and virtual)
- Be knowledgeable about CLE licensing requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CLE records within Firm systems
- Interact with attorneys regarding CLE requirements and compliance as requested
- Support Professional Development team’s administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) regarding CLE events and compliance.
CLE Programming & Applications
- Submit CLE applications to requested jurisdictions and monitor application process for approximately 250 – 300 events yearly.
- Enter relevant information about CLE events into Firm systems.
- Enter individual attendee information into Firm systems.
- Enter third-party CLE attendance certificates into LMS when requested.
- Submit CLE attendance to relevant jurisdictions’ where required.
- File annual individual compliance reports in jurisdictions where required.
- Handle post programming duties (including the collection of attendance sheets from all offices, validation of attendance, sending out program evaluation to attendees, issuing attendance certificates, reporting attendance to various jurisdictions and paying applicable attendance fees, sharing program recording and related program materials with PD design team, and obtaining instructor(s) program preparation time and validate same).
- Coordinate with office administration team for in person events as needed.
- Maintain records of past, current, and upcoming CLE events.
Firm CLE Accreditation Compliance & Support
- Prepare and submit Firm's CLE compliance reports where required.
- Maintain and renew Firm's position as an authorized provider in various states.
- Ensure all jurisdictional requirements are met for all firm-sponsored CLE programs.
Individual Attorney CLE Compliance Support
- Interact with lawyers regarding individual compliance, including updating compliance records and suggesting CLE opportunities, as needed.
- Prepare and provide attorneys with their CLE record/course history upon request.
Professional Development Team Support
- Support CLE team with administration of LMS
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree preferred.
- Three-five years of experience at an administrative level in the legal or professional services industry.
- Experience in managing process recordkeeping, databases, and scanned documents (CE Manager experience preferred).
- Experience with managing CLE tracking and reporting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office computer applications (strong Excel and Access experience preferred).
- Typing/Word Processing at a minimum of 40 WPM.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to understand the overall CLE and development process firmwide.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:
- State of California: $50,000 - $103,000
- State of Colorado: $47,000 - $83,000
- State of Illinois: $46,000 - $89,000
- State of Massachusetts: $50,000 - $97,000
- State of Maryland: $49,000 - $74,000
- State of Minnesota: $50,000 - $84,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $55,000 - $99,000
- State of New York: $47,000 - $102,000
- State of Vermont: $50,000 - $96,000
- State of Washington: $49,000 - $93,000
- Washington, D.C.: $65,000 - $96,000
The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
