Summary

The Content Marketing Strategist serves the North American marketing and communications team as:

1) the coordinator of video, social, and blog content creation;

2) distributor of content across all organic media channels including social media and web;

3) community manager who serves as the primary point of contact with our social media followers as well as technology solution early adopters such as SAM, BOOST, E3 Connect, and Captium users.

With insights from the broader marketing team, the Content Marketing Strategist’s primary objective is to “amplify the story” of IDEX’s family of brands and then engage with social media followers as they interact with that content.

Based on targeted growth initiatives that align with the business goals, the Content Marketing Strategist is the primary champion of organic funnel marketing; expanding the reach of IDEX’s content, funneling visitors to IDEX’s websites, and nurturing those prospects into becoming leads.

Responsibilities

General Content Development

  • Researches and understands industry and customer-centric topics to generate relevant, engaging content.
  • Collaborates across internal departments and external partners to develop content strategy that supports events, SEO tactics, and campaigns.
  • Monitors and analyzes content performance, developing actionable insights that guide content strategy.
  • Coordinates with copywriter and design vendors to develop and edit content for various platforms including blogs, website pages, and trade show materials.
  • Ensures all content aligns with IDEX Fire & Safety’s brand guidelines, tone, and style to reach the target audience.

Social Media Content Creation & Coordination

  • Manages and oversees all social media content: writes, schedules, and posts social media content across platforms.
  • Coordinates social media calendars and collaborates on content themes, campaigns, and strategies.
  • Creates simple, engaging content using tools like Canva or similar programs (no formal graphic design or videography background required).
  • Monitors social media engagement, responds to comments and messages as needed, and assists with account management.
  • Monitors social media trends and technologies, as well as account engagement, to increase online presence and brand awareness.

Video Content Strategy & Support

  • Captures internal and external events and happenings through video for social media content.
  • Collaborates to brainstorm and develop video content for social media and other digital channels.
  • Supports the creation of video scripts, outlines, and key messaging.
  • In partnership with video production partners, serves as the IDEX Fire & Safety producer on video and photo productions (does not require videography experience).

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Works with other marketing team members and designers to ensure content is strategically planned, and that content is informative and appealing.
  • Manages outside resources such as: Graphic designers, photographers, video production, etc.
  • Educates and informs IDEX Fire & Safety employees on how they can help amplify social media posts, etc.

Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Travel required up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or other related field of study and 5 years related experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a B2B environment.
  • Must demonstrate a keen interest and competency in social media marketing and content development (including written, photo, and video).
  • Proficiency with CMS tools, social media platforms, and simple content editing tools like Canva.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics and Looker Studio.
  • Proficiency with web-based project management software
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Teams, etc, is a plus
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both in written and verbal form, particularly with an emphasis on social media posts; new creative ideas; determining and communicating the scope of projects; and social media community management.
  • Working within a tech-related field, particularly new product technology, is a plus.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills are vitally necessary.
  • Experience working in manufactured product related fields is a plus.
