Overview of the role

We’re on a mission to modernize insurance, making it simpler, more accessible, and customer-first. The insurance industry is a $1T market that has remained largely untouched by the digital revolution, and PolicyMe is here to change that. As a remote-first, Toronto-based startup with big ambitions, we’re looking for a Content Marketing Manager to help us build the future of insurance in Canada and beyond.

PolicyMe is looking for a strategic, hands-on Content Marketing Manager to own and scale the Health and Dental content vertical. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving organic growth through high-quality, AEO-optimized content that helps Canadians make smarter insurance decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who blends editorial judgment with performance thinking, enjoys managing people and processes, and is excited to shape how PolicyMe shows up in search and AI-generated answers.

What you'll be doing:

  • You’ll own end-to-end content strategy for your vertical—setting the roadmap, building and managing a content calendar, and ensuring strong AEO visibility across search engines and AI-driven answer platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with SEO, brand, and product teams, while managing a network of writers and freelancers to deliver consistent, high-impact content at scale.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Owning and scaling a dedicated content vertical from strategy through execution
  • Driving SEO and AEO visibility, with a focus on discoverability in search and AI answers
  • Managing writers, freelancers, and editorial workflows
  • Building and maintaining a high-performing content calendar
  • Measuring performance and iterating based on insights

What we are looking for:

  • This role is ideal for someone who blends editorial judgment with performance thinking, enjoys managing people and processes, and is excited to shape how PolicyMe shows up in search and AI-generated answers.

  • Specifically we’re looking for:

  • 3–6+ years of experience in content marketing, SEO, or editorial roles, ideally in a high-growth, digital-first company
  • Proven experience owning a content vertical or program end to end, including strategy, execution, and performance measurement
  • Strong background in SEO with emerging AEO best practices, including content designed to rank and perform in AI-driven answer surfaces (e.g., featured snippets, SGE-style results, LLM visibility)
  • Experience managing writers and freelancers, including onboarding, assigning briefs, editing, and maintaining quality and voice
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a content calendar aligned to business goals and seasonal priorities
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with SEO, product, brand, and growth teams
  • Data-literate mindset with experience using tools like Google Search Console, GA, Ahrefs/SEMrush, or similar to guide content decisions
  • Strong editorial judgment, with the ability to balance brand, accuracy, and performance—especially important in regulated industries like insurance or fintech

Why join us:

  • Generous PTO - 20 vacation days
  • A comprehensive benefits plan with premiums paid in full by PolicyMe
  • Investment in your professional development, including an L&D budget, AI tooling budget, performance reviews twice a year and ongoing feedback to ensure you reach your highest potential
  • An extremely high performing, low-ego, remote-first team that is truly disrupting an old industry
  • Option to work from home or our Toronto-based office (bonus: we cover the costs to bring all our employees in-person twice a year for experiential socials!)
  • Access to stock options based on performance
  • Compensation: The total target cash compensation for this role is $115,500–$134,000 CAD, based on experience. We’ll walk through the details together during the interview.
