We’re Underdog.

The fastest-growing sports gaming company – ever.

We build innovative games, products, and experiences for American sports fans.

We’re here to shake up the fastest growing industry with bold ideas, custom-built tech, and the drive to win.

Founded in 2020, our team has built four of today’s most widely played fantasy games and launched the Underdog Sportsbook – built entirely in-house with our own technology. That means we control our product, move fast, and create experiences you won’t find anywhere else.

In just over two years, we’ve reached over a $1.2 billion valuation, with investors like BlackRock, Spark Capital, SV Angel, Mark Cuban, Kevin Durant, and Adam Schefter. And we’re just getting started.

At Underdog, we believe that sports are for everyone. Join us.

About the role and why it’s unique:

As a Content Designer, you’ll craft clear, concise, and engaging content that shapes seamless fan experiences. Using language as a design tool, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, engineers, product managers, and researchers to create intuitive, user-friendly products. From product flows and in-product copy to navigation systems and design frameworks, you'll help define how sports fans interact with our platform—ensuring every touchpoint is informative, accessible, and aligned with our brand.

  • Design, write, edit and test clear, compelling in-product language to help users and teams meet their goals. This includes product flows, interface language, product names, navigational nomenclature, terminology, taxonomies and other content across Underdog products and experiences.
  • Apply systems thinking to content, contributing to design system guidelines, terminology frameworks, and information architecture improvements.
  • Provide and solicit feedback from peers to refine content strategies and ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Utilize design tools like Figma to create high-fidelity mocks and content prototypes that drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Use data, user research, and industry best practices to inform content decisions and optimize user engagement.
  • Collaborate daily with peers in every discipline, including engineering, design, systems, marketing and data, to take products from conception to launch.
  • Balance clarity and tone in copy, ensuring content aligns with our style and tone guidelines, as well as regulatory best practices.
  • Work within an iterative environment, triaging feedback, managing priorities, and proactively identifying areas for content improvement.
  • Participate in project roadmapping, planning conversations, and post-launch optimizations to maximize content impact.

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of experience in content design
  • A portfolio showcasing examples of clear, user-friendly content that enhances digital product experiences.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and product management.
  • Strong ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
  • Understanding of content strategy principles, including information hierarchy and design systems.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience working with fantasy sports, sports betting, or gaming products.
  • Experience working on promotional and/or retention teams.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven content decision-making.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices for digital content.
