The Opportunity

As a dedicated Consumer Reporting Specialist II, you will be responsible for responding to and validating credit bureau reporting for members. Researches credit reporting issues utilizing applicable tools to perform a quality assessment and provide resolution in a timely manner and with superior customer experience.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in Phoenix Arizona, Charlotte North Carolina, or Plano Texas.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Tasks:

  • Responds to member inquiries on credit reporting disputes by performing validation of credit bureau reporting in a timely and quality resolution.

  • Utilizes a variety of credit bureau reporting tools, such as e-Oscar website, to research account transactions on all types of member bank accounts.  

  • Manually pulls account statements, loan history, and creates work items to all bank lines of business to validate account activity.

  • Possesses developing knowledge of the business, its products, and processes to recommend solutions and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the consumer reporting process.  

  • Resolves credit reporting inquiries within banking and regulatory guidelines and identifies appropriate issues for escalation as needed and sets the expectation with the member.

  • Assists team members with work requests as needed. 

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.

Minimum Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in credit bureau reporting or experience in servicing bank products such as credit cards or consumer loans.  

  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Bank account documentation.

  • PC/Windows skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules,  and regulations to include: FCRA, FCRA 623 A&B.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least 2 years’ working knowledge of one or more of the following systems: E-Oscar, ALS, and/or FDR.

  • Experience handling direct and/ or indirect credit bureau disputes

  • Experience working with ACDVs and AUD’s.

  • Knowledge of the Credit Reporting Resource Guide (CRRG) and its applicability to the submission of Automated Universal Dataforms (AUDs).

Compensation range:  The salary range for this position is: $43,680.00 -  $69,930.00

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
