Job Description

Mirantis is adding a Consulting Architect to our team.  As part of the Services organization, you will use your extensive technical and consultative experience to define a vision to lead a Client from their current state to strategic solutions which achieve measurable and meaningful real-world outcomes to their business. You will work in lockstep with the sales team to communicate Mirantis vision, features, and value, and with the services team to ensure that the vision and outcomes are delivered to the Client. You will also work with product management, marketing, and engineering teams to understand product and offerings, and to provide feedback which will define enhancements to our solutions.

The Consulting Architect position requires technical thought leadership and offers candidates opportunities for professional growth across a variety of business and technology domains. You will play a key role as an individual leader in the field and contribute internally to an organizational culture that deeply values transparency, performance, development, creativity, collaboration, and trust.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the sales organization to demonstrate to Clients and prospects how Mirantis’ vision, products, and services can solve their challenges.

  • Discover and qualify business alignment and technical fit between customer requirements and Mirantis product and services.

  • Define and document customer business drivers, problem statements, and technical requirements.

  • Position Mirantis solutions through dialog, presentation, demonstration, workshops and RFQ/RFP responses.

  • Participate in the creation of workshops, presentation materials, and services strategy. 

  • Develop strategic solution proposals and statements of work collaboratively with Sales, Product and Services.

  • Establish relationships with Clients and prospects as a trusted advisor with influencers and decision makers from engineers to CxO.

  • Advocate for Client needs and serve as a conduit for customer feedback inside Mirantis across Services, Product, and Support organizations.

  • Own the delivery of services for selected strategic Clients, acting as the technical leader of services delivery, monitoring the progress relative to your vision to ensure customer success

  • Contribute to design for new product and service solutions, features, or capabilities based on customer interaction and ecosystem observation in coordination with Product Management, Services leadership, and other stakeholders.

  • Work with services leadership and other internal teams to define and develop services offerings which compliment Mirantis products to solve real world problems.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Demonstrated thought leadership through Client interaction, presentation at conferences, and similar.

  • Relevant industry and regulatory awareness, and understanding of how external influences can affect the requirements and needs of our Clients.

  • Understanding of the competitive landscape of solutions provided by others in Mirantis’ industry.

  • Practical understanding of distributed systems, software development practices, application architecture, and DevOps philosophies.

  • Hands-on experience with:

  • Open source software

  • Cloud Infrastructure including OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, public cloud services, and adjacent technologies.

  • Automation, DevOps and CICD tooling

  • OSS systems for infrastructure monitoring, logging and alerting

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a Client-facing role as a consultant, architect, sales engineer, or similar.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, four year college degree preferred

  • Experience working with senior leadership, especially IT and engineering leadership, offices of CIO and CTO.

  • Hands-on proficiency with Linux, OpenStack VMware, Kubernetes, and related infrastructure products and projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and demonstrations

  • Ability to be productive in a globally-distributed team

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but limited to, relevant sill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location
Salary range: $160000-$175000 per year
