Line of Business Job Description:

The Data Strategy, Reporting & Analytics (DSRA) team provides solutions for several Consumer Operations functions within Enterprise Transaction Services (ETS).  Our goal is to leverage the power of data to support business process owners in improving their processes, better understanding their processes, as well as automating their processes.  We leverage a variety of technical tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Python, and others, to provide ‘data driven’ insights and analytics to help process owners and leaders better manage their processes.

A successful candidate will have a data-driven mindset, strong attention to detail, a variety of analytical and technical skills.  Associates on this team routinely solve a variety of business problems and are encouraged to think strategically and independently to seize opportunities to leverage data to improve business capabilities.  The ideal candidate will be able to synthesize both technical and business expertise to develop data products, such as derived tables, Alteryx workflows, or Tableau reports, that enable business leaders to accomplish business objectives more effectively and to streamline operational processes. 

This job is responsible for performing more complex analysis and modeling to minimize loss exposure and negative impacts to the customer experience. Key responsibilities include utilizing a variety of systems such as Excel, SAS, SQL, Tableau, and other relational data bases to provide analytical support on strategies, ensure goals are met, and propose policy and procedural changes within segmentation structures to produce optimal results. Job expectations include evaluating data to assess potential fraud risk and create mitigation strategies.

Line of Business Job Responsibilities:

The Data Strategy, Reporting & Analytics team relies on a variety of systems / platforms to gather, improve, and leverage the data necessary to build our end-products. The candidate is expected to be familiar with various database technologies, including Hadoop, SQL, and Oracle, and a variety of ETL tools, such as Alteryx, SQL, and Python.  Depending on the candidate’s skill-level, they may be expected to:

  • Interface with business leaders and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Analyze disparate data sources, including relational structures, dimensional data models and cubes.
  • Develop and maintain database objects and ETL to support data preparation for BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, and Self-Serve analytic capabilities.
  • Drive consolidation and improvement within existing reporting solutions to provide more effective data-driven solutions.
  • Recommends ways to help the business achieve desired outcomes and make informed business decisions using data analysis outputs.

  • Performs complex analysis of financial models, market data, financial data, and portfolio trends to understand product performance and improve portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Leads coordination of the production of product performance reports and updates for senior management

Line of Business Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years strategic analysis preferred.
  • Ability to manage varied set of priorities, both planned and ad-hoc, and adapt within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. High level of multi-tasking with focus and oversight on requests across the team
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Talent for combining business acumen with analytical skills, interpret large amounts of data, synthesize multiple analysis into a coherent message, and translate into actionable insights.
  • Ability to proactively identify, analyze, and improve upon existing processes for optimization and to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge about various architectures and protocols, non-relational repositories, data virtualization, cloud enablement, etc.
  • Expertise in the following : SQL and VBA/Excel
