Join our Intake Team as a Conflicts Manager, Systems Development​ located in one of our multiple offices.

Position Summary:

The Conflicts Manager, Systems Development, is responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of technology solutions—including AI-enabled tools—that support the Conflicts & Intake function. This role focuses on building efficiencies, scaling the team’s capacity, improving decision quality, and modernizing workflows.

This individual will partner closely with the Chief Client Intake Officer, Conflicts Directors, IT, Innovation, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, evaluate emerging legal technology, design prompts and workflows, and translate operational needs into effective technical solutions.

The position requires strong knowledge of conflicts principles, excellent analytical and technical skills, and the ability to manage projects, test solutions, and champion technology adoption across the department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

AI & Technology Development

  • Develops and maintains technology and AI-driven tools to facilitate efficient and accurate conflicts analysis; to include, but not limited to:

    • Initial waiver drafting

    • Contrast-and-compare corporate research summaries

    • Substantially-related matter analysis

    • Engagement letter review workflows

    • Analyst report summarization

    • Firm policy and clearance email drafting

    • And working with Innovations team to create agents for efficient AI utilization

  • Identifies new automation to reduce manual workloads and improve accuracy

  • Translates Conflicts & Intake operational requirements into specifications for IT and vendor partners

  • Leads testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance efforts for all technology enhancements

  • Monitors technology and software performance and refines agents, prompts, workflows, and develops use cases

Operational Support & Process Improvement

  • Conducts data cleanup and structured spreadsheet analyses (e.g., lateral hiring conflicts data, matter data normalization)

  • Develops scalable processes to support the department’s increasing intake

  • Serves as the liaison for cross-departmental technology initiatives involving Conflicts, Intake, Innovation, Technology, and General Counsel

  • Produces weekly/monthly insights regarding departmental statistics, technology performance, success metrics, and enhancement opportunities

Change Management

  • Partners with the Conflicts Development Manager to ensure training alignment

  • Works with Conflicts Development Manager regarding training guides, quick‑reference materials, and "Did You Know?" communications for the Conflicts & Intake team

  • Provides coaching on new technology, AI tools, and data practices

Project & Vendor Management

  • Evaluates emerging legal technologies, AI tools, and research platforms for applicability to Conflicts & Intake

  • Coordinates with vendors on product enhancements, testing cycles, and troubleshooting

  • Leads pilot programs and proof‑of‑concept evaluations

Qualifications

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies (AI automation tools, entity‑resolution platforms, research engines, workflow orchestration systems) and determine applicability to conflicts analysis, intake, and risk operations.

  • Data‑driven decision‑making, including the ability to build metrics, interpret technology performance dashboards, and produce actionable insights.

  • Ability to produce highly effective training materials (guides, quick-reference tools, job aids) for AI systems, new workflows, and technology upgrades.

  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills, enabling alignment across Conflicts, Intake, Innovation, IT, Data Governance, and Office of General Counsel.

  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical or risk concepts to attorneys, analysts, leadership, and vendors with clarity.

  • Demonstrated experience leading multi‑stakeholder technology projects, including design, testing, rollout, and adoption.

  • Experience coaching and upskilling staff on modern data practices, AI usage, and risk‑aware technology operations.

  • Proficient in change management strategies, ensuring successful rollout of new technologies, workflows, and AI tools.

  • Demonstrated track record of owning initiatives end to end, from ideation and planning through deployment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD or advanced degree preferred.

  • Advanced degree preferably in competitive intelligence, research studies or a similar field of study

  • Prior experience in conflicts or in a comparable consisting of researching in a legal environment preferred, or business experience in an analytical role

  • Prior training, project management, or system‑testing experience is highly desirable.

  • Previous experience supervising others

  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
