We are hiring a Compliance Engineer to lead and support all aspects of RF certification and regulatory compliance for Flock’s cellular and connected hardware products in the Connectivity Team. The role focuses on PTCRB, FCC, and Cellular Carrier certifications, as well as EMC/EMI testing and validation of our wireless designs. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for creating and executing RF and compliance test plans, managing relationships with external certification and compliance labs, and ensuring that new products meet all applicable regional and carrier requirements. You’ll work closely with our RF design, antenna, systems, and manufacturing engineering teams to shepherd products from prototype through certification and into production.

The Skillset
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in RF compliance testing and certification (FCC, PTCRB, Carrier).

  • Strong understanding of cellular standards (4G, 5G, LTE), WLAN, and IoT radio systems.

  • Direct experience coordinating PTCRB, FCC, and Cellular Carrier certification processes, including EMC/EMI.

  • Experience collaborating with compliance labs on test plan creation, scheduling, and issue resolution.

  • Ability to develop RF test plans and conduct verification for radiated and conducted measurements.

  • Familiarity with RF test equipment: spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, reverberation chambers, GTEM cells, etc.

  • Experience reviewing or generating regulatory documentation (test reports, block diagrams, schematics, user manuals) for certification.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and manage multiple parallel test programs.

Nice to have:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • Hands-on experience with reverberation chambers or anechoic test setups

  • Experience with SAR, OTA, and radiated spurious emission (RSE) testing

  • Familiarity with 3GPP RF conformance and carrier-specific test requirements (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile)

  • Understanding of wireless test automation or scripting (Python, LabVIEW, or similar)

  • Knowledge of wireless standards including 802.11 and 5G

  • Familiarity with AMS8500, Bluetest RTS65

Feeling uneasy that you haven’t ticked every box? That’s okay; we’ve felt that way too. Studies have shown women and minorities are less likely to apply unless they meet all qualifications. We encourage you to break the status quo and apply to roles that would make you excited to come to work every day.
