What are we looking for?

SentinelOne is seeking a highly technical, analytical, and collaborative Competitive Intelligence Manager to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director of Competitive Intelligence, this individual contributor role will be instrumental in deeply understanding the competitive landscape across Endpoint Security, Identity Security, and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. You will be responsible for providing actionable, data-driven insights that empower our Sales, Product, Marketing, and Channel teams to maintain and accelerate our market leadership.

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with:

  • A strong technical foundation in cybersecurity.
  • A passion for dissecting complex competitive scenarios.
  • A proven ability to translate findings into clear, impactful recommendations.

You’ll be joining a respected team within SentinelOne that is collaborative, creative, and dynamic.

What will you do?

  • Deep Technical Analysis: Conduct technical evaluations and in-depth analysis of competitor products and services in Endpoint Security, Identity Security, and MDR, including architectural nuances, feature capabilities, performance metrics, and deployment models.
  • Competitive Landscape Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze the competitive landscape, tracking new product releases, strategic announcements, market trends, pricing strategies, and go-to-market motions of key competitors.
  • Insight Generation: Synthesize complex technical and market data into clear, concise, and actionable competitive intelligence insights, identifying competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT).
  • Collateral Development: Create and maintain high-quality competitive assets such as battlecards, playbooks, technical deep-dives, and presentations for various internal audiences.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management to influence roadmap decisions, with Sales and Sales Engineering to enhance selling strategies, and with Marketing to refine messaging and positioning.
  • Strong Presentation & Engagement Skills: Develop and deliver competitive training and enablement sessions for internal teams, ensuring they are equipped with the latest competitive knowledge and effective counter-strategies. Regularly engage, converse with, and present to customers and prospects.
  • Primary Research: Conduct primary research through industry events, analyst interactions, and customer engagements to gather firsthand competitive insights.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Provide objective, data-backed recommendations to leadership on competitive strategy, product differentiation, and market opportunities.
  • Maintain Intelligence Repository: Contribute to and maintain a centralized repository of competitive intelligence, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information.
  • Travel to Industry Conferences / Sales Enablement sessions (~25%).

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role within cybersecurity, such as Competitive Intelligence, Product Management, Technical Marketing, Sales Engineering, or Security Consulting.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and hands-on experience with endpoint security platforms (EPP/EDR/XDR), identity security solutions (e.g., identity threat detection and response - ITDR), and/or Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. You should be comfortable discussing these technologies at a detailed level.
  • Proven history of performing competitive analysis or providing strategic recommendations based on market insights.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex problems, identify key drivers, and synthesize diverse information sources into actionable insights.
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and competitive narratives clearly and persuasively to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Highly collaborative and consultative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships across functions and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; relevant industry certifications are a plus.
