Compensation Manager
Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite) | Full-Time | $120,000 – $145,000 + Bonus

We are seeking a Compensation Manager to lead the strategy, design, and evolution of enterprise compensation programs within a rapidly growing and highly innovative organization.
This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on compensation design, job architecture, career frameworks, market competitiveness, and pay equity, while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and executive leadership.
Position Overview
The Compensation Manager will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert responsible for developing scalable compensation frameworks that support organizational growth, talent attraction, retention, and internal equity.
This role requires a strong blend of strategic compensation expertise, analytical capability, compliance knowledge, and cross-functional leadership within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation Strategy & Program Design
• Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of compensation programs and frameworks
• Align compensation strategy with organizational goals and market trends
• Support compensation philosophy and pay-for-performance initiatives
Job Architecture & Career Frameworks
• Oversee job architecture including job evaluation, leveling, and grade assignments
• Drive development of career ladder frameworks supporting internal mobility and growth
• Partner with business leaders on organizational design and workforce planning
Compensation Planning & Market Analysis
• Manage annual compensation cycles including merit, promotion, and market adjustments
• Conduct market benchmarking and compensation trend analysis
• Provide strategic recommendations on salary decisions and internal equity
Compliance & Governance
• Ensure compliance with compensation regulations including FLSA and pay transparency requirements
• Support pay equity initiatives, audits, and compensation reviews
• Maintain compensation policies, procedures, and governance standards
Systems, Analytics & Reporting
• Partner with HRIS and IT teams to maintain compensation system integrity and data accuracy
• Analyze compensation data and develop executive-level reports and insights
• Support compensation system enhancements and process improvements
Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
• Serve as a strategic advisor to HR, Finance, and senior leadership
• Manage vendor relationships and compensation survey participation
• Lead cross-functional compensation initiatives and special projects
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field
• 8+ years of progressive compensation experience
• Strong expertise in broad-based compensation strategy and program management
• Experience with job architecture, leveling, and compensation frameworks
• Deep knowledge of compensation regulations and compliance standards
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday or SAP
• Strong communication and executive stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting high-growth or rapidly evolving organizations
• Experience with compensation system implementations or enhancements
• Background in manufacturing, automotive, technology, or industrial sectors
• Experience leading pay equity and transparency initiatives
