As a Senior Compensation Analyst at Shield AI, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our compensation strategy. You’ll lead critical workstreams focused on analytics, program development, and infrastructure that ensure our pay practices are both competitive in the market and equitable within. Your expertise will help build scalable, data-driven compensation processes that support Shield AI’s growth and mission.
In this highly collaborative role, you’ll partner closely with Finance, PX Operations, Recruiting, and business leaders across the organization—delivering insights and solutions that drive talent attraction, retention, and performance.
What you'll do:
- Compensation Analytics & Insights
- Conduct recurring and ad hoc market benchmarking using data from sources such as Radford and Option Impact.
- Maintain salary structures, job architecture data, and compensation frameworks to support equitable and competitive pay practices.
- Build and refine Excel-based models for headcount planning, compensation budgeting, and forecasting.
- Program Management
- Play a key role in the annual compensation cycle (merit, bonus, equity), including project managing timelines, preparing datasets, and executing data loads into HRIS and equity platforms.
- Support day-to-day stock plan administration by collaborating with PX Ops, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate equity data and grant processing.
- Process Design & Efficiency
- Partner with PX Operations and HRIS to maintain high data integrity across UKG and Carta.
- Identify and implement process improvements or automation opportunities to reduce manual work and increase accuracy.
- Build scalable compensation tools and documentation to support PXBPs, recruiters, and business leaders.
- Stakeholder Enablement & Education
- Create resources and communication materials to increase understanding and trust in Shield AI’s compensation programs.
- Support manager and PXBP enablement around topics like compensation philosophy, pay equity, and total rewards education.
- Special Projects & Ad Hoc Analysis
- Take ownership of compensation-related projects, such as internal equity reviews, geographic pay differentials, leveling frameworks, or compensation data reviews during M&A events.
- Conduct one-off analyses (e.g., 401(k) data audits, EEO pay reporting, or finance reconciliation support) to support compliance and business decision-making.
Required qualifications:
- 3–5 years of compensation or Total Rewards experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Business, HR or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of Compensation foundations
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, nested logic formulas, etc.).
- Familiarity with compensation survey platforms (Radford, Pave, etc.), HRIS (UKG preferred), and equity management tools (Carta preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Preferred qualifications:
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn; able to operate independently and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Clear and thoughtful communicator who collaborates well across teams.
- Experience working with large sets of structured and unstructured data to draw trends and insights, use data visualization to present complex matters in an easy manner
