Job Summary
As part of The Standard’s Compensation team, the Compensation Analyst II will play a critical role implementing, accurately maintaining, and improving the Company’s compensation programs and structures.
This role performs job evaluations, maintains and responds to compensation surveys, performs compensation modeling and analysis at the direction of more senior staff, and collaborates with colleagues to maintain and improve the operation of the Company’s compensation programs. This position will also have a specific focus on maintaining executive compensation plans and data.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
60% Prepare and maintain compensation data for broad-based programs:
- Track and prepare data in response to annual compensation surveys, ensure review by appropriate senior team member, and ensure timely submission.
- Conduct audits and track compensation data for financial accruals, and other purposes as assigned.
- Perform job evaluations under the direction of more senior team members.
- Create positions and ensure job descriptions are properly documented and housed.
- Research, gather and prepare appropriate compensation data (salary, bonus, etc.) in a variety of formats and prepare cost or impact models as directed.
20% Maintenance of executive compensation programs:
- Responsible for audits and maintenance of accurate records for executive comp programs (including deferred compensation plan, long-term and short-term incentive plans, and base pay programs).
- Ensure accuracy of executive base and incentive information in Workday.
- Assist with preparation of analysis and reporting for Board of Director materials.
- Respond to Comp leader, executive, payroll, and other Finance team requests for information.
20% Project participation:
- May serve as a project participant in our annual compensation event (annual performance, merit, and incentive project) performing input and testing in our HRIS system (Workday) and audit tasks.
- Work with HR Business Partners and business lines on communication and implementation of compensation program changes including incentive/bonus plans and salary administration.
- Conduct research and modeling related to strategy development work as assigned. Own moderately complex process improvement initiatives.
Skills and Background You’ll Need
- EDUCATION: HS Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or Business is preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: 4+ years of experience with Excel and extracting data from HRIS (or other systems) and analyzing data using a variety of formulas, pivot tables, V and/or X-Lookups. 2+ years of experience in an HR or Finance function.
- Prior experience with Workday preferred.
- A high attention to detail, excellent ability to analyze data using Excel, and organized/analytical mind will be highly sought after in this role.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively when needed, and proven history in achieving deliverables within tight timeframes.

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
$64,250.00 - $94,000.00Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
