About the Role

Do you love to write? Do you like to tell stories? Are you an investigative reporter at heart, always on the lookout for the next big headline? Do you appreciate learning about people and what makes them unique, and then sharing that with the world?

This role is for you if you appreciate the impact that stories can have on people—encouraging them to dive deeper into a problem, learn about a new product, or share their own experience. You understand the importance of a brand, how stories can make people feel, and know how to share that with the world, all while balancing multiple projects and understanding how to prioritize based on metrics and data.

What You Will Do

  • Support the day-to-day interactions with multiple PR agencies across our three key regions, with a focus on delivering strategic threat intelligence, customer, and product stories in trade publications, as aligned to our overarching Marketing strategy
  • Create public relations strategies in tandem with the global agencies, understanding how to coordinate and collaborate to deliver the best results.
  • Write and edit press releases, with a focus on engaging storytelling and interesting narratives, designed to capture media interest and customer attention.
  • Support our owned social media channels (particularly LinkedIn and YouTube) with daily posts on new content, upcoming programs, internal events, media hits, and other key initiatives.
  • Increase engagement across owned platforms, delivering superior customer experiences for the people who engage with Abnormal on social media.
  • Write bylines and social media posts on behalf of company executives, with a key focus on increasing thought leadership in cloud email security.

Must Haves

  • Proven experience as a PR pro in the cybersecurity industry, either in-house or supporting cybersecurity companies in an agency role.
  • Extraordinary people skills, with the ability to pull out unique stories, pitch the right angle, and interact with high-level executives at customer organizations.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to build story arcs and narratives that capture media attention and customer/prospect interest.
  • Strong copywriting skills and the ability to create content that represents our brand personality, provides product insights, and delivers results.
  • Intermediate expertise in social media, with a desire to interact with prospects, customers, and employees and a hunger to continually test new ideas.
  • The ability to appropriately apply brand standards and balance global consistency + local relevance in all content programs and solutions
  • A solid understanding of brand metrics and how to measure the impact that public relations has on brand performance.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to prioritize and then communicate changing priorities clearly to external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively, and establishing relationships with cross-functional partners to ensure collective success.

Nice to Haves

  • A degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and an enthusiasm for data-driven marketing, with experience in media monitoring and reporting tools.
