This is a paid Apprenticeship, offering $15/hour.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Junior, Senior or recent graduate at an accredited college or university

  • Located in the state of Iowa 

  • Available to work 15-20 hours per week, September 7, 2026 - May 22, 2027

  • Ability to spend at least 1 day a week on site in our DSM office

  • Access to your own housing and transportation to/from the DSM office 

About the Team:

The Commerce Email team sits within the Transaction Department and is a hybrid team based across multiple offices, with approximately seven team members. The team focuses on the TRX email business, including shopping newsletters and commerce tout placements within branded editorial newsletters.

About the Role: 

Support the Shopping Newsletter team by helping brainstorm and write shopping email touts across People Inc. brands like Better Homes & Gardens, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, and more. You’ll assist with creating content on topics like fashion, beauty, home, food, and entertainment.

You’ll also help our Newsletter Analytics Manager pull reports and review data. Promotional holiday periods are a significant component of the email marketing strategy. Consequently, you’ll gain knowledge of promotional planning and assist in touts for various brands, particularly surrounding key holidays such as Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, and others. You’ll support small projects, conduct competitive research, and work with the team to understand how newsletters are performing.

Help the Apple News team with projects as needed.

Apprentice Responsibilities will Include: 

  • Support the creation of shopping email newsletters touts across multiple People Inc. brands.

  • Help track and report on newsletter performance to support data-informed decisions—including during tentpoles.

  • Conduct basic competitive research and contribute to small projects as needed.

  • Provide cross-team support, including assisting the Apple News team when needed.

About You: 

Candidates for this role should have:

  •  Interest in digital writing and strong writing skills.

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Open to new challenges and excited to grow within a fast-paced, expanding, and constantly evolving organization

  • Creative and driven self-starter that can take direction and run with it, asking questions up front to ensure you’re able to complete the task successfully

  • Motivated problem solver who will proactively troubleshoot and create solution

  • Experience with Google & Microsoft Suites

  • Some experience with digital media is a plus but not required
