Write and optimize CNC programs for turning, milling, and multi-axis machines using Esprit. Create SolidWorks 3D models, develop machining processes with engineers and operators, interpret GD&T drawings, optimize tooling and machine programs, maintain tool lists and part routings, establish setup procedures, and prepare machine setup documentation. The role also conducts time studies and calculates machining work rates.
Position Summary
This position will write and optimize CNC programs for various turning and milling machines including multi-axis lathes using Esprit programming software. Develop the overall programming approach for CNC machinery; establish procedures for setup and operation of machine; as well as for programming. Recommendation of design changes to facilitate optimized CNC machining. Establishment of measured work rates for machining operations either from standard data or by time-study.
Principal Activities
- Develop CNC programs based on processes laid out by manufacturing engineer
- Create 3D models using Solid Works software
- Help develop processes with operators and manufacturing engineers
- Read and understand GD&T requirements on engineering drawings
- Identify program optimization opportunities in current machine programs
- Knowledge of cutting tool geometries, coatings, and application.
- Utilize data bases to create tool lists, part routings, and update established programs
- Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience programming. CAM experience required. Use of ESPRIT programming software and Solid Works software a plus
