Fueled is a leading digital strategy, design, and engineering agency. We are a 300+ person team that has designed and built hundreds of digital products and experiences for brands like Google, Apple, The New York Times, ESPN, Victoria’s Secret, MGM Resorts, Albertsons, and CLEAR.

As a Cloud Solutions Engineer at Fueled, you will drive the technical vision for complex, cross-platform digital products, bridging the gap between business strategy and engineering reality. You will translate ambitious requirements into scalable, secure, and well-documented software architectures, leveraging your deep understanding of Cloud platforms, Service-Oriented Architecture, and API-driven landscapes.

You will lead high-level decision-making, auditing third-party integrations, and defining technical roadmaps that ensure long-term maintainability. By guiding engineering leads, mentoring developers, and establishing best practices, your expertise will turn abstract concepts into robust, future-ready systems that power seamless digital solutions for global brands.

Intentionally remote and globally distributed across six continents, our team thrives in a culture that values flexibility, creativity, and cutting-edge technology. Together, we’re shaping the future of digital experiences.

What you will do:
  • Translate business goals into technical reality. You will assess business requirements and existing systems to create comprehensive technical roadmaps. You’ll propose solutions and develop PoCs that aggregate various web services, SaaS platforms (IAM, CRM, CMS), AI systems, and custom components into a cohesive, performant whole.
  • Guide architectural strategy and execution. You will advocate for sound, scalable technical solutions, leveraging your expertise in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), and Microservices. You’ll support engineering leads in selecting the right frameworks, whether Python, Go, or Node.js, and defining data models to ensure the system is built to last.
  • Orchestrate cloud infrastructure and operations. You will design and manage robust cloud environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP using Datadog or Signoz for monitoring and JMeter or Artillery for performance testing. You’ll set the standard for DevOps by implementing CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform with ARM templates and CDK and Shell scripting.
  • Bridge the gap between tech and business. You will communicate complex architectural strategies to audiences of varying seniority, from developers to stakeholders. You’ll produce clear, actionable documentation and UML diagrams that serve as the blueprint for our development teams.
What you will achieve:
  • Day 1: You will join a project team immediately, diving into a discovery phase to shape the technical strategy for a new client or assessing the health of an existing high-scale architecture.
  • Month 6: You will have successfully architected a major feature set or migration, delivering a solution that improves system performance or scalability, directly impacting the client’s ability to grow.
  • Month 12: You will have guided a flagship product from initial concept through to a successful launch, serving as the technical anchor that ensured the product was delivered on time and to our high standards.
  • Team Impact: You will have introduced a new tool, pattern, or documentation standard that is adopted by the wider engineering team, making our collective workflow more efficient.
  • Career Growth: You will have established yourself as a trusted advisor to both internal leadership and external clients, with opportunities to influence the agency’s broader technical direction and mentor the next generation of architects.
About you:
  • You are a strategic systems thinker. You don’t just write code; you design ecosystems. You can easily dig up knowledge on architectural frameworks to apply the right patterns, and you are comfortable integrating diverse SaaS platforms and payment systems into a seamless user experience.
  • You have a versatile technical toolkit. You possess deep familiarity with a wide variety of languages (JS, Python, Go) and principles (REST, GraphQL, MVC). You are as comfortable diagramming a solution in Lucidchart as you are auditing a third-party API.
  • You are a rigorous guardian of security and quality. You are well-versed in data protection and compliance regulations. You design solutions that are not only functional but also secure, ensuring adherence to guidelines like GDPR and HIPAA.
  • You are a "never-stop-learning" mentor. You have a drive to expand your professional growth and a natural capacity to mentor others. You actively evaluate new frameworks and toolchains to keep the team at the cutting edge of web development practices.
  • You thrive on agile collaboration. You favor open communication, constant feedback, and short decision paths. You believe the best architecture is achieved when smart people work effectively together, and you are capable of digesting complex documentation just as well as you develop it.
