We are seeking a versatile Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Technical Solutions team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our cloud infrastructure with a focus on security, reliability, and cost optimization. You will play a crucial role in automating, securing, and streamlining our development and deployment processes while maintaining robust infrastructure that supports our applications and services. This role is Hybrid, our office is located in uptown Charlotte, NC.

Primary Responsibilities: 

Infrastructure & Cloud Management

•    Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

•    Optimize cloud resource utilization and implement cost-effective solutions

•    Manage cloud workloads including virtual machines, containers, and serverless functions

•    Implement and manage cloud-native and hybrid solutions as appropriate for business needs

Security Implementation

•    Integrate security throughout the development lifecycle using a "shift-left" approach

•    Implement and enforce security best practices, including vulnerability scanning, code analysis, and penetration testing

•    Configure and maintain security monitoring solutions (e.g., AWS GuardDuty, Lacework)

•    Conduct security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities in infrastructure and applications

•    Implement and manage secrets management and identity access controls

CI/CD & Automation

•    Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security testing

•    Create self-service capabilities for development teams

•    Automate routine operational tasks to increase efficiency and reliability

•    Build infrastructure and application deployment workflows

Operations & Reliability

•    Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., DataDog, Prometheus)

•    Implement observability solutions for applications and infrastructure

•    Handle incident response and troubleshooting for production issues

•    Ensure high availability and reliability of critical systems

•    Document infrastructure, processes, and procedures

Desired skills and experience:

•    Experience with AWS preferred

•    Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code and automation

•    Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

•    Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)

•    Understanding of security best practices and common security tools

•    Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks

•    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

•    Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

•    Cloud platform certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent)

•    Experience with Microsoft technologies (.NET, SQL Server) in cloud environments

•    Knowledge of monitoring tools and observability platforms

•    Experience with database administration and optimization

•    Familiarity with implementing Site Reliability (SRE) practices

•    Experience optimizing infrastructure costs in cloud environments

•    Experience in both startup and enterprise environments
