We are seeking a highly technical and inspirational Cloud Engineering Manager to lead and elevate our Linux Cloud Compute Operations team. This role is ideal for a bar-raising leader who thrives in a DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) environment and is passionate about mentoring engineers and driving operational excellence across cloud and legacy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship - Serve as a hands-on technical mentor, guiding engineers in areas such as Linux infrastructure, AWS compute services (ECS, EKS, EC2), and scripting.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Participate actively in incident and problem management processes.
  • Infrastructure & Operations Management
  • Oversee the health, performance, and scalability of AWS-hosted and legacy Linux environments.
  • Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and OpenTofu.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security compliance across platforms.
  • Champion DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, observability, and proactive monitoring.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure strategy with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing technical teams in a DevOps or SRE environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in:
  • AWS Compute Services: ECS, EKS, EC2
  • Linux Systems Administration
  • Scripting: Bash, Python, or similar
  • Version Control: GitHub
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and inspire high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or higher certification
  • Background in software development or scripting for automation.
  • Familiarity with legacy system modernization and hybrid cloud environments.
