About the Role

The Trimble Cloud team is building the platform fueling Trimble’s digital transformation. We take a cloud-first approach to deliver shared web services that are used by Trimble and Trimble partners. Our platform-as-a-service is used by hundreds of product teams to build customer-centric workflows. We focus on building services used by developers that are simple, scalable, and secure.

As the engineering manager for the Trimble Cloud Core Platform's Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in Westminster, Colorado, you will be a vital part of the Cloud Operations team, responsible for our PaaS application stacks developed and operated in the US.

What You Will Do

  • Directly lead a team of skilled Site Reliability Engineers operating our Core Platform services developed in the US.

  • Continuously improve the resiliency, performance, security and build/deployment of Trimble’s PaaS portfolio via chartering and executing horizontal DevOps CI programs.

  • Collaborate with Core Platform R&D to implement mature DevOps processes and operations technologies for Trimble’s PaaS portfolio. Innovate and implement best practice standards around infrastructure security, secure development lifecycle and business continuity.

  • Collaborate with our distributed SRE teams in India and the European Union.

  • Distribute tasks among matrixed resources within the global Cloud Operations organization to ensure development milestones are kept on track.

  • Manage Incident response and escalation paths for our global DevOps and Engineering teams.

  • Collaborate on documentation creation needed for internal cross functional teams.

  • Manage the efficiency of the Trimble PaaS portfolio CI/CD pipeline.

  • Respond to service disruptions alongside a 24x7 global follow-the-sun team

  • Review, implement and maintain cost controls for PaaS platform and supporting services.

  • Investigate new cloud technologies to solve emerging operational requirements.

What Skills & Experience You Should Have

  • Experience managing a team of SaaS software development teams or DevOps teams.

  • Working knowledge of public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).

  • Experience developing or operating production cloud applications.

  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules.

  • Excellent written and verbal business communication abilities with demonstrated visualization and technical problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge designing and implementing Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps solutions for SaaS development teams.

  • Experience of technical architecture – i.e. the design and delivery of onprem IT or Cloud systems for a broad range of use cases.

  • Strong understanding of automation technologies and tools.

  • Experience managing and remediating security controls.
