Job Description
About the role:
The Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) will build and execute Takeda's global procurement strategy in line with Takeda's corporate philosophy. Positioning the procurement as a powerhouse of value creation and competitive advantage for the business, CPO develops and leads the best-in-class and high-performing procurement function that focuses on total cost of ownership, drives innovation and continuous improvements, leverages technologies for efficiency and thrives for excellence.
How you will contribute:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Takeda's Value and its business goals. Drive value creation from identifying opportunities to execution.
  • Build a best-in-class and high-performing team that establishes strong supplier relationships and stays ahead of industry trends with advanced data analytics and competitive intelligence.
  • Establish a trusted and constructive relationships with key senior leaders in Business Units (BUs) and Functions (BFs) in partnership with Finance Leadership Team (FLT) to enable the effective implementation of the procurement strategies and co-drive financial performance.
  • Create a diverse and inclusive environment and learning organization. Maintain high standards of quality and compliance, living with our Values. Proactively assess potential risks and put mitigation plans in place.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressive procurement leadership experience, with hands-on experience in category management and business partnership.
  • Proven track record in leading a global procurement organization with exceptional leadership skills inspiring and motivating a team.
  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical business value chain.
  • Strong financial acumen across commercial, R&D, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to navigate in matrix organization and effectively drive dynamic procurement initiatives across multiple business units and functions globally.
  • Demonstrated success building data infrastructure and analytical capabilities.

Cambridge, MA
U.S. Base Salary Range:
$304,000.00 - $418,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
