The Channel Operations Manager is a critical role that strategically builds a healthy distribution Channel for Blackline’s Products and Services. Involved in all stages of the lifecycle of our distributors, from finding and evaluating new distributors, to operating with them, supporting their growth objectives, and ensuring a productive relationship. Experience dealing with a large, complex distribution network and understand what it needs to be successful. Create strategic messaging tailored to various markets, industries, and companies. Can quantitatively and qualitatively measure success.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the distributor evaluation and sign-up process, help identify gaps in the distribution network and propose new potential distributors
  • Own and maintain the distributor contracts and contract templates
  • Work with the Demand Generation & Channel Marketing team to drive a strategy for marketing communications through identifying and understanding why specific verticals/customers buy our product
  • Work with the Performance & Learning team on channel training programs for new products, features, and updates from Blackline
  • Maintain a continuous feedback process through surveying distributor stakeholders to understand how they perceive us, how we are performing, and if/when changes need to be made
  • Develop and maintain a calendar of content for the distribution network to ensure consistent communication
  • Own and operate the distributor performance program to measure the effectiveness of the distribution network
  • Develop sales competitions through the distributor channel
  • Gather and compile market and competitive intel
  • Propose changes to product, marketing, and pricing plans when appropriate
  • Analyse current channel strengths and weaknesses 
  • Familiarize yourself with large, medium, and small partners—their offerings and operational methods.
  • Work with regional channel representatives
  • Build reports and business plan reviews to present

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a channel operations or channel management role
  • Worked in a B2B sales role and understand first-hand the world of distribution.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Display a high level of self-motivation, exceptional organizational skills, and a structured approach to tasks and projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to conduct market research to identify the needs of channel partners in a particular region.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capability to cultivate relationships with channel partners and take ownership of relationships
  • Strong understanding of partner programs and incentives
  • Ability to travel for in-person meetings with channel partners
  • Knowledge of Blackline's products 
  • This position requires travel, estimated to be around 10-20%
