Job Description:

Join Hitachi Energy as a Category Manager - Monitoring /Digital Components where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of power grid transformation across North America. This remote opportunity puts you at the heart of innovation, driving procurement excellence and supplier performance for our largest business line. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence sourcing strategies, and lead initiatives that directly impact cost, quality, and delivery performance. This role will require up to 25% travel.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Translate global category strategies into actionable regional plans.

  • Lead total cost of ownership sourcing and risk mitigation activities.

  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with regional suppliers.

  • Collaborate with engineering to drive technical cost reductions and standardization.

  • Analyze market trends, commodity spend, and supplier performance.

  • Communicate sourcing strategies and results across regional factories.

  • Drive regional supply chain projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Resolve critical supplier issues and ensure contract compliance.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Supply Chain.

  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing or category management.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with cost breakdowns and benchmarks.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and supplier performance metrics.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
