Texas Instruments
Career Accelerator Program - Digital Design Engineer - Sensing
Change the world. Love your job.
In your first year with TI, you will participate in the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), which provides professional and technical training and resources to accelerate your ramp into TI and set you up for long-term career success. Within this program, we also offer function-specific technical training and on-the-job learning opportunities that will encourage you to solve problems through a variety of hands-on, meaningful experiences from your very first day on the job.
As a Digital Design Engineer you will develop digital IP to be combined with TI’s industry leading analog technology to create cutting edge Sensing IC solutions. You will be a key team member from concept through product release and working closely with the top talent in the industry. You will architect and design the digital IP, be responsible for the RTL implementation, perform full chip and block level design verification, execute the full digital backend flow for various kinds of IC products for sensing applications like magnetic, inductive, current, etc. You will collaborate with the full product development team to get your product into high volume applications.
This is a great opportunity to be part of an established team in Dallas, Texas that’s continuing to look for growth opportunities, working with worldwide leading customers and developing cutting edge solutions.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Handling the complete digital design flow (frontend and backend)
- Designing logic circuits with System Verilog/Verilog for implementing FSMs, arithmetic for digital signal processing algorithms, communication interfaces, memory controllers, analog control for ADC’s, DAC’s and power management, internal test mode features, DFT, etc.
- Developing HDL test benches and design models to be used in Verification.
- Performing all steps in backend flow: Synthesis, Place and Route, Post-Timing Analysis, ATPG etc.
- Simulating behavior/RTL/gate level designs
- Designing for testability using ad-hoc / Full scan / Memory BIST and generating functional and production test vector for performing Scan Testing
- Discussing specifications with our System Engineers and translating these into design requirements
- Providing high-level analysis on chip architecture trade-offs to ensure spec compliance and superior performance at a competitive cost
- Working with and providing guidance to physical designers and monitoring the progress of IC layout
- Working closely with test and product engineers to ensure that design-for-test standards are considered up-front
- Collaborate closely with analog designers to define together the needed functionality and behavior.
- Maintain and extend digital flow and evaluate new tools in close collaboration with the EDA
- Participating in design reviews and creating the necessary design and product documentation
- Characterizing prototypes, developing test specifications and coordinating with test/product engineering to drive product releases
As part of your job, you will also get exposure to other roles such as: Design Verification & Analog Design through formal learning, projects and on-the-job development experiences that will help you broaden your knowledge and accelerate your growth and success at TI.
