We're looking for an outstanding team member to join Affirm’s Capital Markets team! Affirm Capital is responsible for raising the capital that funds our originations, a critical part of Affirm’s revenue strategy. As a Capital Markets Specialist, you will own a significant portion of the platform’s day-to-day capital activities, which drive Affirm’s ability to scale its consumer point-of-sale lending business globally. This is a complex role that is essential to the functioning of a consumer finance and payments platform. The ideal team member will have direct experience or a strong base of knowledge in structured debt finance or debt capital markets; strong technical and interpersonal skills; and the desire to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and execute the Capital Markets team’s operational work streams, which requires frequent collaboration with numerous internal and external counterparts
  • Actively work on Affirm’s existing and prospective capital transactions including; asset-backed securities (‘ABS’), whole loan sales (‘forward flow’), warehouse / debt financing structures and international funding facilities (Canada, UK and beyond)!
  • You will assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing our transactions with the goal of growing into a deal leadership role over time
  • Take charge of communication with Engineering, Product, Commercial, and Credit/Risk teams to drive scale for Affirm’s capital platform and funding strategy
  • Build and manage relationships with existing and potential investors
  • Develop a strong understanding of Affirm’s business from a unique perspective and learn how Capital Markets fits into broader corporate initiatives

What We Look For:

  • 1-3 years in structured finance, private credit, debt capital markets, investment banking, fixed income sales & trading, or another credit-oriented role
  • Financial modelling and transaction management experience, along with an understanding of fixed income principles
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with SQL or Python
  • High level of humility, accountability and a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Clear alignment with Affirm’s core values

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range.
Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. For capital roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, which includes the annual base pay and the incentive target.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).

USA Pacific OTE (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $125,000 - $175,000 

USA Sapphire OTE (all other U.S. states): $110,000 - $160,000
