The role:
SoFi is seeking a Manager to join our Capital Markets team. In this role, you will lead initiatives to build and strengthen relationships with banks and institutional investors while managing all aspects of warehouse financing transactions. This includes overseeing new facilities, amendments, and renewals. To succeed, you’ll need a strong understanding of various warehouse structures, expertise in negotiating financing terms, and the ability to drive the review and execution of financing documentation. You will work closely with product, credit, and treasury teams to develop and implement funding strategies for our credit products. By effectively managing and optimizing funding channels, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient capital utilization and fostering positive, lasting relationships with financing counterparties and investors.
What you’ll do:
- Build and strengthen financing partnerships with banking counterparties and institutional investors.
- Develop and manage funding strategies for new and existing product lines.
- Lead the renewal and modification of warehouse facilities, ensuring seamless extensions to prevent disruptions.
- Negotiate financing terms with lenders and legal teams to secure favorable outcomes.
- Oversee bank and investor diligence processes, including preparing corporate presentation decks and educating stakeholders on key company information.
- Collaborate with Treasury to forecast utilization and manage liquidity needs across multiple financing facilities.
- Partner with legal counsel and the deal execution team to review warehouse financing transaction documents and ensure alignment on transactional terms.
- Review monthly servicer reports for accuracy, ensuring all key metrics required by lenders are complete and accurate.
- Provide strategic collaboration and support to internal teams, including credit, legal, engineering, product, treasury, accounting, servicing, and finance.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of key performance indicators, product performance trends, and forecasts.
- Support ad hoc financing initiatives, including whole loan sales, asset-backed securitizations, new products, securities financing, unsecured lines of credit, and other future financing strategies.
What you’ll need:
- 8+ years of relevant experience desired, primarily in capital markets and warehouse execution
- BS/BA in business, finance, accounting, economics or similar technical field
- Excellent work ethic and willingness to contribute broadly to achieve team and company objectives
- Strong verbal and written communication as well as technical and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong ability to read and interpret financial contracts and knowledge of core documents and industry standard/best practices in transactional terms
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suites (particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, Sheets)
- Previous experience with lending or consumer credit products a plus: mortgages, student loans, credit cards, personal loans, etc.
- Previous experience with asset-backed securitization data sets a plus: Bloomberg, Intex, DV01, etc.
