About Our Role:
Are you ready to help guide Agile teams delivering AI‑enabled solutions for the U.S. Army? As a Scrum Master, you’ll ensure Agile practices are effectively applied to support the delivery of mission‑critical software in a complex operational environment. You’ll work closely with military stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams—facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring continuous alignment with real‑world Army workflows and priorities. By fostering collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, you’ll help teams deliver reliable, high‑quality AI‑driven capabilities in highly regulated, mission‑focused settings.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation as a Scrum Master, coupled with a solid understanding of software development and AI technologies. Prior military experience—particularly in command and control (C2) or logistics—or experience supporting defense or military programs is highly preferred. Success in this role requires the ability to effectively engage with government stakeholders, understand operational contexts, and apply Agile practices in a manner that aligns with mission‑specific requirements and constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint reviews), ensuring that the team is following Scrum practices and continuously improving.
- Have a strong background in leading and coordinating Program Increment Planning.
- Guide and coach the team on Agile principles and Scrum practices to optimize team performance, foster collaboration, and ensure continuous delivery of high-quality software.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders (including military representatives) to gather requirements, understand the product or solution being developed, and ensure clear and actionable user stories.
- Gain a deep understanding of the Army's needs and how they operate. Ensure that the team delivers solutions that meet the Army’s unique requirements while adhering to Agile principles.
- Drive the delivery of AI-driven software solutions in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain transparency on project progress and potential roadblocks.
- Act as a servant-leader for the team, identifying and removing impediments to progress and fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by working with the team to identify process improvements and optimizing workflows.
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, particularly military personnel, ensuring alignment and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project risks and dependencies, proactively addressing and escalating potential issues that may impact timelines, scope, or quality.
- Ensure that all relevant Scrum artifacts (e.g., backlog, burndown charts, sprint reports) are maintained and that project progress is accurately communicated to leadership and stakeholders.
