Job Summary
The sky is no longer the limit as Nidec takes its technology off the ground and into the Aerospace market. As a Buyer III with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to design electric propulsion systems for battery-powered aircraft that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B.Nidec is the world’s leading electric motor manufacturer and a true pioneer in electrification across a wide array of industries since its foundation in 1973, ranging from appliance, and energy infrastructure, to ground transportation. Job Description
Nidec Aerospace is seeking a tactical Buyer to be responsible for executing day-to-day procurement activities to support aerospace production and development programs. This role ensures the timely delivery of materials and services, maintains supplier relationships, and supports cost, quality, and delivery objectives in a highly regulated and precision-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:Procurement Execution:
Place and manage purchase orders for direct and indirect materials.
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet production schedules.
Monitor order confirmations, shipping schedules, and resolve delivery issues.
Supplier Management:
Maintain strong relationships with approved aerospace suppliers.
Coordinate with suppliers to resolve quality, delivery, and invoicing issues.
Support supplier performance reviews and corrective actions.
Cost and Compliance:
Negotiate pricing and terms within established guidelines.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (AS9100, ITAR, etc.).
Track and report cost savings and procurement KPIs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, quality, and logistics teams.
Support new product introductions and engineering change implementations.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to align procurement with program goals.
System and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records in ERP systems (SAP).
Ensure documentation aligns with aerospace regulatory and customer requirements.
Support audits and documentation requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure supplier vetting and product classification are fully compliant with applicable Trade Compliance regulations.
Resolve discrepant invoices promptly to maintain accurate financial records and supplier relationships.

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of tactical buying experience, preferably in aerospace or defense.
Strong understanding of aerospace materials, components, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
