About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Purchasing & Sourcing team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, maintaining inventory, ensuring quality assurance, and liaising with the Receiving team and management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a broad scope of products and parts for various Product Lines and Finished Goods. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and excellent negotiation abilities to secure the best cooperation with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and global suppliers to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Negotiate with suppliers on cost, transport, delivery conditions, and other terms.
- Process requisitions and provide management with updates on order status.
- Arrange transportation of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Obtain airfreight and fast boat quotes from transportation providers to expedite shipments and purchase orders.
- Ensure all purchase orders are accurate and detailed.
- Monitor stock levels and expedite purchase orders to avoid stockouts.
- Assess the quality of stock received and address any discrepancies with suppliers and management.
- Work with suppliers to substitute parts and retire parts that are no longer active, including canceling, modifying, or re-issuing purchase orders.
- Participate in and support business reviews with suppliers to proactively avoid future purchasing issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to analyze supplier performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Planners, Factories, Product Line, and Receiving teams to maintain professional working relationships and cross-functional collaboration.
- Work with category managers to execute sourcing activities and share relevant information.
- Understand purchase order data, shipment documentation, and INCOTERMS.
- Develop and implement an accurate system for monitoring purchase orders.
Qualifications:
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
