QED (https://qed.ai) is a tech company focused on public health and food security in Sub-Saharan Africa. We build the digital infrastructure and AI used at the intersection of aid and scientific inquiry, including surveillance of HIV and malaria, and nutrient analysis of crops and soils, working at national-scale in several African countries. Our funding comes from multiple philanthropic and governmental organizations, including the Global Fund, Gates Foundation, CDC, and USAID.
We are seeking a dedicated Business Development Specialist to help QED expand its business and impact across Africa and beyond.
+6 years of experience with technology sales, preferably in the impact space, working with governments and philanthropic organizations on projects at national scale.
Notable history of sales accomplishments, backed by supporting numbers.
Strong rolodex of connections to heads of relevant organizations and governments.
Confidence.
Number sense.
Willing to travel. To chase.
Highly preferred full-time employment of at least 40 hours per week. Promising students with exceptional skills should contribute at least 24 hrs/week.
Good fluency in English speaking and writing (typing > 35 wpm).
Critical thinking skills, expressiveness, and team-oriented attitude.
And you have to care about the work that you do!
Some domain expertise in public health, or agriculture, or education, in this order of preference.
Significant multi-year experience living in the Global South, outside of the West.
Fluency in foreign languages, to liaise more smoothly with countries of interest.
Doesn't hurt to be good-looking.
