We are seeking a driven, self-starting Business Development Manager with a hunter mentality to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in the building remodel and new construction markets in the region.

This role is focused entirely on new customer acquisition -- to get you started, you will be given a small book of business. Success in this role means building your own pipeline from the ground up and converting prospects into long-term customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and target new repair, remodel and new construction business opportunities by developing and executing strategies for prospecting and cold outreach (calls, emails, networking, events)
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through close
  • Conduct virtual or in-person presentations, site visits, and product demonstrations
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales Director/Sales Manager, Branch Manager, and local supply center teams) to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers
  • Meet or exceed sales targets
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records and activity reports
  • Stay informed and report market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments

Qualifications:

  • Successful sales history with a minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience
  • Proven track record of generating new business and consistently meeting/exceeding quotas
  • Experience within the building materials industry is highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized, customer-focused
  • Proven experience in new business selling and upselling
  • Technical Acumen - High comfort level with daily computer use, data entry, and navigating various technical environments (Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and practical experience with Salesforce)

The actual wage offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity.Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. Preferred Qualifications

Start with a guaranteed base plus uncapped commissions. After 24 months, the plan shifts to a draw model that recognizes and rewards high performers and self-starters.
