Our client is one of the leading technology companies in Africa. They are looking to hire a Business Development Manager who will manage the commercial side of the assigned sales vertical (Banking & Financial Services Institutions – BFSI) and work in conjunction with other support functions to generate new revenue streams for the business. The role also delivers key expectations around identifying and closing new business opportunities, while also managing existing customers.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manages the go to market and business development requirements of the company.
  • Collaborates with internal Sales teams to support sales opportunities for the division.
  • Provides business expertise in support of pre-sales activities: analysis, design and development of fully integrated technology solutions with technical emphasis on customer requirements.
  • Proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners and exploring new business frontiers for the division.
  • Drives post sales activities such as timely project completion, revenue collections and overall customer satisfaction in collaboration with other support functions.
  • Research prospective accounts in target markets.
  • Identifies prospective customer business needs and proffering viable technology solutions based on new and evolving technology to meet those needs.
  • Acts as the focal point for ensuring customer complaints are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Arrange and participates in internal and external client briefs, workshops and productive business development activities.
  • Ensures revenue assurance on renewal businesses whilst qualifying new viable opportunities, facilitate negotiations & ensure profitability.
  • Performs regular market and business intelligence to identify opportunities for incremental revenue.
  • Maintains an up to date understanding of products and services necessary to perform duties and tasks.
  • Midwife strategic partnership with OEMs to improve service delivery performance and increase customer satisfaction
  • Any other responsibilities assigned from time to time as the business continues to evolve.
Job Requirements:
  • A good first degree in any discipline or a technology related field.
  • An MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in a similar business development role, with demonstrable skills in working in a technology consulting environment
  • Understand the company's consulting products, services and value proposition and able to use this knowledge to transform business opportunities into revenue.
  • Experience in contract negotiation, client liaison and overall contract management.
  • Relevant Professional Qualifications or membership in Business Development.

The Business Development Manager must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
  • Project Management
  • Sales performance indices & measurement
  • Industry product knowledge
  • Must have clear understanding and knowledge of B2B Business environment
