What You Can Look Forward To:



Energy Recovery, Inc.is seeking a qualified candidate for an immediate full-time job opening for the position of Business Development Director, with the Wastewater team. This position is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the company's market presence through the identification, development, and execution into new market verticals. The candidate will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product, and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve ambitious growth targets. A suitable candidate will be highly motivated, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of building and managing successful business development initiatives in water or wastewater industry.

What Will You Do?

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the BU's overall strategic goals and revenue targets
  • Identify and evaluate new market verticals, potential partnerships, and strategic alliances.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's products/services and their value proposition to effectively communicate with potential partners and clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential partners, clients, industry influencers, and strategic allies.
  • Represent the company professionally at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective lead generation campaigns and marketing materials
  • Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership on business development activities and outcomes.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or sales leadership in Water or Wastewater industry, with a proven track record of closing business opportunities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to conduct well-organized training sessions and convey technical information clearly at all levels.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed
