The Business Data Analyst partners with business leaders for analytical projects, queries data from various platforms, conducts analysis, and presents insights using visualization tools.

Job Purpose:
The Business Data Analyst is responsible for any combination of data analysis and business analysis to generate actionable business insights for Veritiv’s core Commercial Excellence functions including Corporate Strategy, Marketing, eCommerce, Product Management, and Pricing. You will directly work with senior business leaders who rely on your data analysis and insights to make data-driven decisions.Job Responsibilities:

Partner with business leaders to define the scope of problems for analytical projects
- Query data from data warehouse, Oracle, and AWS
- Process data with tools such as Excel, Power BI, SSAS Cubes or other analytics platforms
- Conduct analysis on data to bring resolution to problems
- Visualize findings using Power BI, Excel, PowerPoints, etc.
- Present findings to business leaders
- Generate reports, report automation, & dashboard design to provide business insights
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years in business analytics, business administration, finance, information technology, statistics, or other STEM degree
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership potential
- Basic understanding of financial concepts (AR, AP, DSO, DIOH, BPS)
- Basic understanding of Power BI or similar data visualization tools
- Basic understanding of database languages: PLSQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL a plus
