About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Accountability Director to lead development and oversight of risk management framework and practices for the Consumer and Small Business Banking Marketing division. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, compliance, and risk and ensures all campaigns and department activities meet regulatory, legal, reputational and internal controls standards.
Additionally, this role will be responsible developing, implementing and leading new change management and issue management initiatives, including a new governance structure to improve end-to-end implementation of promotional offers to mitigate risk and improve both customer and banker experiences. This role will also improve marketing efficiency by streamlining campaign processes and controls across CSBB as well as other lines of business (e.g., Card, Mortgage Marketing) via new dedicated cross-functional efforts.
This role will manage a team of individual contributors as well as indirectly lead a complex, cross-functional team across Marketing, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Branch, Product, and other key partner teams. This is a high-visibility role in a rapidly expanding organization.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage all marketing risk functions, which are critical to responsible growth for the Consumer and Small Business Banking line-of-business.
  • Lead change management and issue management initiatives for the CSBB Marketing organization.
  • Assess and design complex and multi-faceted controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, and monitoring
  • Streamline and standardize marketing campaign processes and controls across core consumer lines-of-businesses (Card, Retail, Mortgage, etc.) in partnership with a dedicated cross-functional team.
  • Act as a primary liaison between CSBB Marketing and internal controls functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and integrity within the CSBB Marketing organization.
  • Manage a direct team of risk program, marketing processes and controls professionals and indirectly lead a cross-functional team across a compliance, risk, legal, controls, as well as peers in other marketing organizations (Card, Mortgage, etc.).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development by overseeing strategy and execution of all activities
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior leadership
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with risk assessment frameworks, change management frameworks, policy frameworks, issue management frameworks
  • Issue Management experience
  • Demonstrated success in implementing risk frameworks within cross-functional environments
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and foster partnerships across departments
  • Proven record of attracting, retaining and developing top talent
  • Strong understanding of marketing operations and/or marketing risk management preferred
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
