We're looking for a Brand Manager to own and elevate MeanPug's presence in the legal marketing world. This is an internal-facing role; you're not managing client brands, you're managing ours. That means keeping our portfolio sharp, getting our founders in front of the right rooms and audiences, building relationships with key publications, and making sure our reputation matches the quality of work we actually do.

This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of PR, content, social, and client experience. You'll need to be organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling a wide range of initiatives simultaneously; from award submissions to newsletter copy to gift logistics.

What you'll do

  • Identify and submit speakership applications for MeanPug founders at major legal marketing conferences
  • Pitch and secure podcast appearances on high-profile legal industry shows
  • Pursue placement opportunities in prestigious legal and marketing publications
  • Manage our relationships with external publications we contribute to: including Attorney at Law, Forbes, 50Pros, GLM, CallRail, and others; ensuring we're publishing consistently and strategically
  • Research and submit for industry awards based on client work and agency achievements

Portfolio & brand presence

  • Own and maintain MeanPug's work portfolio: keeping it current, compelling, and representative of our best work
  • Ensure all off-site portfolio listings and agency profiles (Clutch, UpCity, etc.) are accurate, complete, and positioned well
  • Coordinate with an external agency to support the build-out of the new MeanPug website

Content & social

  • Revive and run our monthly newsletter: owning the editorial calendar, content, and distribution
  • Contribute to MeanPug's organic social presence, including proactive engagement (commenting, sharing, participating in conversations) across LinkedIn and other relevant platforms

Client experience

  • Own client gifting and relationship touch-points: sourcing and sending thoughtful gifts at the right moments
  • Develop and execute a strategy for generating client reviews and testimonials across key platforms
  • Partner with account and strategy teams to keep a pulse on client happiness and surface opportunities to deepen relationships

Requirements
  • Experience in brand management, PR, communications, or a closely related field. Agency background a strong plus
  • Excellent writing skills: you can craft a pitch, a newsletter, a social caption, and an award submission; and they all sound like the same brand
  • Strong project management instincts: you track details, hit deadlines, and don't let things fall through the cracks
  • Comfortable working with executives and founders: you know how to represent someone else's voice and help them show up well publicly
  • Familiarity with the legal industry or professional services is a plus, but not required; curiosity and the ability to learn quickly matter more
  • Self-directed and proactive: you identify opportunities and act on them without waiting to be asked
Bonus skills (nice to have)
  • Existing relationships with legal industry media, podcasts, or conference organizers
  • Experience managing award submissions or editorial calendars
  • Comfort with basic design tools (Canva, Figma) for light asset creation
  • Experience coordinating with external agencies or vendors

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-sponsored 401(k) with matching
  • Flexible work schedule. Work when and where you're most productive, as long as deliverables are met
  • Up to $500 reimbursement for pet adoption fees or vaccinations
  • Technology stipend: pick the right machine for you when you start
  • Team outings and events a few times per year
  • Professional development opportunities
