Who we areAbout Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Stripe Brand Studio is a multi-disciplinary team that accelerates the awareness and trajectory of our brand. We craft the creative vision and strategy for different types of projects and audiences, and amplify them across various mediums, channels, objects to environments, and digital and physical experiences.

The Stripe brand identity team is responsible for defining and evolving Stripe’s visual identity, and bringing the Stripe brand to life in new and impactful ways across surfaces. Our goal is to enable the creation of a coherent, high quality brand experience across the user journey, building recognition and trust in Stripe at every turn. We collaborate with other design systems teams to translate our brand for Stripe.com and Dashboard, and partner with teams across the company on high impact user-facing projects to create work that feels authentic to Stripe at scale.

What you’ll do

Following our 2025 brand refresh, Stripe’s visual identity is evolving to meet our global ambitions. To maintain our high bar for craft while moving at the speed of our product suite, we are looking for an experienced designer to elevate the brand through breakout art direction. You will push the boundaries of our expression while ensuring beauty and scalability across marketing, product, and beyond.

This role is for a creative with an expansive point of view—someone who can help shape bold visual directions while building systems that endure. You’ll concept, design, and direct high-impact brand moments that extend our aesthetic vocabulary and work cross-functionally to shape work that is both thoughtful and ambitious.

Responsibilities
  • Push our creative voice forward with exceptional taste, craft, and a high bar for visual excellence.
  • Lead exploratory work that defines new visual territories and expands our brand’s aesthetic boundaries.
  • Design and execute high-fidelity work across new surfaces, owning projects from early concept through final delivery.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with people who have radically different skill sets to envision an optimistic, progressive future for the brand.
  • Translate abstract ideas and complex concepts into elegant, inspiring, and clear visual communication.
  • Provide visual direction for illustration, photography, motion, and video—guiding work hands-on or through trusted partners.
  • Remain an adamant maker—staying curious, experimental, and obsessed with tinkering to create beautiful things.
Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • 6+ years of design and art direction experience at a respected agency or product-driven company.
  • A track record of independently delivering work and influencing the output of other designers and agencies.
  • Proven experience collaborating across functions and partnering with illustrators, photographers, motion designers, and 3D artists.
  • Strong strategic acumen for pitching creative in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Preferred qualifications
  • A genuine curiosity and ambition for design, with a refreshing creative perspective grounded in meticulous craft.
  • Experience and comfort leveraging generative AI tools for rapid concepting, mood-boarding, and exploring new brand territories.
  • Ability to communicate persuasively and humbly when explaining your work, process, and decisions to stakeholders.
  • Enjoyment in mentoring other creatives to help them learn and grow—while remaining open to learning from them in return.
  • A balance of aesthetic intuition & systems thinking.
