Location: 1840 E. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054
Habitat ReStore 
Pay: $19.50 per hour
Schedule: Full-time - Rotating Schedule, 7 days per week

Position Overview:
Habitat Charlotte is seeking a dedicated Backroom Supervisor to ensure smooth store operations, accurate merchandising, and a safe, welcoming environment for employees, volunteers, and customers. This key-holding supervisory role supports store leadership in managing donations, inventory, and day-to-day operations that keep the ReStore running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, accurately ticket, and safely move merchandise to the sales floor in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with store leadership on priorities, timing, and placement of incoming donations

  • Supervise donation drivers during loading/unloading activities

  • Ensure safe handling of merchandise according to policies and procedures

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient store environment

  • Independently open and close the store and perform cash handling procedures

  • Operate the cash register as needed and complete accurate reports and end-of-day documentation

  • Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and motivation to staff, volunteers, and team members

  • Demonstrate a positive, respectful, and professional attitude with all customers, donors, volunteers, and staff

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced retail environment

  • Experience with inventory, merchandising, or supervisory responsibilities is a plus

  • Commitment to excellent customer service and a mission-driven workplace

Qualifications

Education/Skills:

  • Basic computer skills

  • Basic math or POS experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Management and Customer Service experience

  • Show initiative


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to move merchandise throughout the store

  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time

  • Ability to lift 50lbs. without assistance

  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, Saturdays, and periodic holidays

  • Ability to obtain Forklift Certification and operate a forklift on a regular basis

  • Ability to climb steps to Forklift cab

Level of Authority:

  • Requires minimal supervision

  • Ability to engage and motivate staff as well as hold team members accountable in conjunction with store management

  • Report to the Store Manager


Estimated Time Commitment: 40+ hours/week. Rotating Monday-Sunday work week. Shifts scheduled based on the needs of the store.
