Job Overview:

We are looking for an inspired AVP Software Developer to help with the development of many projects that span different technologies and requirements, with a background in the development of cloud-native web applications leveraging technologies including PLSQL, Oracle Forms/Reports, Python. ETL & AWS preferred. The candidate will be guiding a high-velocity, multi-functional development team focused on green-field technology platforms.  Activities will include daily oversight of the development and enhancement of a series of prototypes to test design concepts for target state capabilities, then using feedback to refine and progress towards a scalable platform.  The role will require flexible thinking as the team works to integrate existing business and technology concepts with evolutionary design to deliver a practical and flexible platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, mentor and inspire a dedicated team of onshore and offshore developers to architect, build, deploy and support best-in-class software solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects. Estimate, plan and slice projects to deliver frequent value to production.
  • Leverage technical expertise and latest tech stack to implement software development best practices. Implement Application resiliency, scalability and performance design.
  • Oversee and participate in activities which drive the design and development of high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance, using Oracle PLSQL, Oracle Forms/Reports, Python. ETL & AWS preferred
  • Work with Product Owners and Product Managers to translate business problem statements into technical solutions, then help to plan Sprints that deliver quality demonstrations. Collaborate across business units and product teams to build product vision and deliver business values.
  • Assist in technical assessment of risks and issues, and document recommendations
  • Coordinate solution design with leaders from Architecture, Data, Infrastructure, and Business to optimize speed to market and achieve prioritized business outcomes.
  • Work actively with quality assurance engineer teams, Release Management, DevOps to ensure all SDLC processes are adhered to.
  • Once production build commences, coach the team in developing appropriate technical documentation in accordance with SDLC guidelines
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical groups on a regular basis as part of product support

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated development tech/team leadership
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience within a combination of Oracle PLSQL, Oracle Forms/Reports, Python. ETL & AWS preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of AWS experience, AWS (container and sever-less), and/or front end technologies including CSS, Semantic HTML and Responsive Design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of expertise with Source Control such as GIT, Bitbucket or TFS. CI/CD experience with TeamCity/Octopus/Jenkins/Jules.
  • Minimum of 3 years of financial services/brokerage firm experience required.

Technical Competencies:

  • AWS Certified
  • Team Foundation Server/ Visual Studio, TeamCity/Octopus.
  • ETL Tools experience to work vendor data feeds and data from operational systems.
  • Knowledge in designing, refactoring, and unit testing
  • Good Understanding of Document Object Model (DOM) and DOM Functions.
  • Excellent knowledge of OOP concepts, data modeling design patterns/frameworks.
  • Experience with DevOps, release management, and CI/CD

    Pay Range:

    $140,475-$234,125/year
     
    Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
