Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient AVP, Quality Engineering Architect, and Technical Lead to lead our Quality Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE). This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep expertise in test automation, application development, and AI-driven testing strategies. You will be responsible for architecting scalable platforms and frameworks that support enterprise-wide quality initiatives, while also mentoring a high-performing team and collaborating with senior leadership.
You will work closely with engineering, product, and executive teams to define quality strategies, implement intelligent automation, and ensure robust testing coverage across applications and services.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and architect the Quality Engineering CoE team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Define and drive the strategic roadmap for quality engineering across the organization.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align quality initiatives with business goals.
Technical Execution
Architect, Design, and implement enterprise-grade test automation frameworks using Selenium. Playwright, Appium, Karate, BDD frameworks
Develop reusable components and libraries in Python, Java, and JavaScript to support test automation and application development.
Integrate AI/ML technologies into testing workflows to enhance predictive quality and intelligent automation.
Build and maintain centralized platforms for test execution, reporting, and analytics.
Leverage AWS services to build scalable, secure, and cost-effective testing infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product architecture and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Define and track quality metrics, KPIs, and provide executive-level reporting.
Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices, integrating quality gates and observability into pipelines.
Serve as a subject matter expert and technology ambassador for automation, platform engineering, and AI-driven quality solutions.
Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform to provision and manage test environments consistently and at scale.
Familiarity with automated security testing tools and methodologies (e.g., OWASP ZAP) to integrate security checks into the CI/CD pipeline.
Cloud & Infrastructure
Leverage AWS services to build cloud-native testing solutions and infrastructure.
Ensure scalability, security, and cost-efficiency of testing platforms.
Strategic leadership with AI
Evaluation of AI testing tools: Stay current with emerging AI testing tools and technologies and evaluate their potential return on investment (ROI).
Upskilling the team: Act as a technical mentor for the QE team, guiding them in understanding and adopting new AI-driven tools and techniques
Governance & Reporting
Establish quality metrics and KPIs; provide regular reporting to executive leadership.
Ensure compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices.

Requirements:
12+ years of experience in software engineering or quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Appium, and test automation frameworks.
Strong coding skills in Python, Java, and JavaScript.
Experience in building and scaling test platforms and frameworks across large organizations.
Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and their application in quality engineering.
Expertise in AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to convey technical solutions to the entire organization and experience working with senior leaders across the firm to leverage technology to drive positive business outcomes

Knowledge of design patterns

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading a Center of Excellence or similar strategic quality initiative.
Contributions to open-source testing tools or frameworks.
Certifications in AWS, AI/ML
Experience with performance testing, security testing, and observability tools.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like GitHub Actions, Octopus, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Pay Range:
$119,400-$199,000/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
