Job Description


As a leader of the data technologies platforms, this role will manage the data platforms primarily but not limited to Snowflake.


Responsibilities


This is not a DBA role

 •Leads a team of data engineers/managers or works in individual capacity as a principal data engineer.
• Responsible for providing direction in the life cycle of the solution and manage complex program with impact on business.
• Implement data project according to the line of business and/or function data strategy and road map.
• Work closely with architects and senior engineers to develop the best possible technical design and approach that meets to business goals.
• Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high quality work on tight schedules.
• Project management: prioritization, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments.
• Support the sharing of knowledge and best practices across the enterprise.
• Hire and retain world class talent to deliver data platform projects.
• Develop and nurture team of senior data engineers and/or managers.


Required Skills/Experience


  • Minimum 10 years experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Expertise in Snowflake management, internals, billing, query tuning.
  • Experience as a Cortex user for query planning and semantic layer.
  • Excellent communication skills for companywide communication.
  • Nice to have: Insurance domain experience.

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $173,000-$217,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
