Job Overview:
As a leader within the resiliency team the Crisis Management Assistant Vice President is responsible for supporting the operational resiliency strategic vision by maturing the firm’s crisis management policy, processes, procedures and supporting documentation moving it from an ambiguous environment to a well-structured and adopted program. This key leader will build and scale the crisis management program maintaining and improving crisis management tools, resources, exercises, and training, and facilitating event response during disruptions. This leader will coordinate threat monitoring, impact assessment, response and recovery coordination activities and crisis communications. This role requires promoting the program across the firm, and working closely with executive leaders, cross-functional partners, and stakeholders at all levels. This leader will also govern, develop, deliver, and manage related training for crisis management processes, tools, and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Crisis Monitoring, Response & Recovery Leadership
Lead and coordinate enterprise threat monitoring, analysis, impact assessment, escalation, and response activities for high-impact events (e.g., technology outages, cyber incidents, natural disasters, geopolitical events).
Facilitate Enterprise Crisis Team assembly, virtual command center operations, and cross-functional response coordination during live events.
Drive response and recovery planning and execution, ensuring clarity of roles, decision rights, dependencies, and communications cadence.
Maintain a client-first mindset, ensuring front-line advisor and end-investor impacts are central to response decisions, communications, and playbooks.
Executive Engagement & Communications
Act as a trusted advisor to executive and senior leadership, delivering clear, factual, and timely situational updates during live events.
Support and execute crisis communications in partnership with Corporate Communications, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and Risk.
Remain calm, decisive, and credible while operating under pressure during high-profile disruption events.
Program Maturity, Governance & Risk Management
Support the ongoing maturation of the Crisis Management framework, including policies, standards, procedures, and playbooks, in alignment with Business Continuity and Technology Risk programs.
Assist in program governance, ensuring crisis management processes and tools align with regulatory expectations and industry standards (e.g., FINRA, NYDFS, SEC, FFIEC, NIST).
Proactively identify and document program risks, gaps, and control weaknesses; support the development and tracking of remediation plans or formal risk acceptance.
Exercises, Lessons Learned & Continuous Improvement
Design, facilitate, and participate in crisis management tabletop exercises and simulations with business, technology, and response partners.
Lead or support post-incident and post-exercise Lessons Learned assessments; analyze root causes and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure post-incident remediation actions are tracked and completed in partnership with Business Continuity and Issues Management teams.
Tools, Metrics & Enablement
Administer and enhance crisis and incident management tools (e.g., Archer GRC, Everbridge/Mass Notification, Everbridge 360 Pro VCC, NC4, ServiceNow, GETS/WPS or similar).
Maintain distribution lists, call trees, and leadership coverage models to ensure response readiness at all times.
Develop and maintain KPIs and reporting to measure preparedness, response effectiveness, communication timeliness, and recovery outcomes.
Training, Awareness & Stakeholder Partnership
Develop, deliver, and maintain role-based crisis management training (web-based and instructor-led).
Promote crisis readiness and program adoption across the enterprise through working groups, training sessions, and stakeholder engagements.
Build strong collaborative relationships with response partners including Technology Incident Response, Physical Security, HR, Corporate Communications, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Business Continuity/DR.

Requirements:
5–8+ years of experience in crisis management, incident response, business continuity, emergency management, or resiliency roles, preferably within financial services or highly regulated environments.
Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating enterprise-level response during live disruption events.
Strong understanding of financial services regulatory requirements and resiliency standards (e.g., FINRA, FFIEC, NIST, DHS COOP).
3+ years hands-on experience with Business Continuity, crisis management, or mass notification tools.
Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, high-pressure situations with minimal supervision.
Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred)
Business Continuity certification (e.g., CBCP, MBCP, FBCI) or willingness to obtain CBCP within 12 months.
One or more of the following preferred:
MIT Certificate in Crisis Management & Business Resiliency
Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
Emergency Management Professional (EMPP)
DRII or BCI certifications
Relevant military or government emergency management equivalent
Preferences:
Everbridge Mass Notification and/or Everbridge 360 Pro VCC administration.
Experience designing crisis playbooks, procedures, and training materials.
Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Management and control frameworks (e.g., RCSA).
Project management experience supporting resiliency, crisis, or technology initiatives.
Work Expectations
Participation in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation to support monitoring and response coverage.
Availability outside of standard business hours during unplanned disruption events.
Hybrid work model — Fort Mill, SC office 3 days per week.

Pay Range:
$99,073-$165,122/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
