The Team You Will Join
As part of Internal Audit at MetLife, you'll play a critical role protecting MetLife and its stakeholders by delivering both independent, risk-based, and objective assurance through audit execution and providing advice and insights through strategic advisory engagements. Collaborating across the company, you'll use your strategic problem-solving skills, consulting expertise, and ethical standards to support the company's growth strategy. The Opportunity
This position leads comprehensive internal audit coverage of data engineering, data governance, data science, AI risk and governance, and enterprise AI platforms, tools, and automation across MetLife, ensuring governance intent is effectively enforced as the organization accelerates AI adoption under its New Frontier Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to shape MetLife's audit approach, evolving alongside emerging risks from agentic AI and citizen developer tools, while unifying audit efforts across Global Risk Management, Enterprise Data & Analytics and Global Technology Emerging Technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and collaborate across regions to align audit coverage for the data areas, and AI risk, governance, platforms, and tools.
  • Lead advisory and assurance reviews, evaluating risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and enable guidelines for the audit capabilities, guiding regional audit teams to assess and advise on relevant key risks and controls in local audit reviews.
  • Communicate audit results and recommendations to key stakeholders, including sharing insights on leading practices.
  • Support Audit Committee communications on the department's audit coverage and results for data and AI, including looking across the enterprise for key thematic data and AI issues.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting with deep expertise in enterprise data governance, AI governance, and supporting AI, automation and data platforms/tools, with a strong understanding of associated risks, controls, regulatory expectations, and emerging industry practices.
  • Strong ability to partner across global and regional teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex audit results, risk themes, and recommendations clearly to management and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams through influence, and building organizational capability through training, learning content, and practical guidance on data and AI topics.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Risk Management, or related discipline; advanced degree and/or relevant certifications such as CIA, CISA, CRISC, or similar preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Internal audit, risk management, or assurance experience leading risk assessments, advisory reviews, and control evaluations across technology, data, and AI-related processes.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is 164,200 - 218,900 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
