The Enterprise Architect AVP reports directly to the VP Chief Architect and has a dual reporting line relationship to the CIO of Corporate systems. The AVP is a technical self-starter, inquisitive and has excellent communication skills. The position requires hands-on technical and global enterprise governance leadership and is directing a team of 4-7.
You will partner and enable Agile and Enterprise Class development teams for Actuarial Modeling and Risk, Corporate Financial Systems and Reporting, Legal and Corporate Management Systems, Human Resources, The Corporate Intranet Experience and Shared data in support of the enterprise. The candidate will develop, guide, and govern conceptual and solution architectures providing technology leadership for global applications, platforms and processes that can reside in country specific locales. You and your team will liaise with all Corporate Systems AppDev Teams and Lines of Business (LOB) and as members of the Global Enterprise Architecture Group contributing to evolving the effectiveness of EA and evangelizing our principles in our transformation towards technology and process simplification and secure cloud enablement. The successful candidate will have a strong capability to connect business concepts, devise technological solutions and communicate them to a broad set of constituents within a LOB and at all levels of the organization.
The Architect will be responsible for assisting in the adoption and implementation of a broad swath of third party SAAS, PAAS and custom systems such as People Soft, Success Factors, Admin and Policy solutions for Insurance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3-year roadmaps aligning Line of Business strategic and tactical needs with modern enterprise architectures.
- Delivers fit for purpose, secure, scalable, architectures in an agile framework that evolves with the line of business via collaboration with AD teams, business, and engineering across all levels of the organization.
- Senior domain expert and technical authority for corporate systems with demonstrable hands-on skills.
- Utilize Cloud technologies preferably Azure to enable PaaS centric enterprise solutions.
- Keeps abreast of current and future technology trends especially those fit for purpose for the LOB.
- Provide leadership in developing standards, ensure architectural governance, and best practices.
- Mentor and grow your team's capability to apply modern technology and technique for solutions.
- Evangelize and raise the bar technically of the whole CS org through training, publishing, and mentoring .
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (CS, EE, ME, Math or equivalent)
- Superior written and verbal skills
- 15+ years' experience Designing, Developing, Delivering, and Architecting Enterprise business solutions.
- Experience with several SaaS and PaaS technologies and solutions such as Peoplesoft Cloud, Service Now, Azure PaaS, Grid Computational Engines utilizing HPC, AON, Prophet, Numerix etc.
- Experience implementing a Cloud data stack utilizing one or more of the following technologies: Data Bricks, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Azure Synapse, HDFS, HBASE, Hive, KAFKA, FLUME, SPARK etc.
- 2 + years recent applied experience delivering solutions in an Agile Framework. Preferably SAFE.
- 5 + years recent experience incorporating the use of domain driven design for enterprise solutions.
- 10 + years of experience of architecting enterprise distributed systems ensuring Security, Resilience, 999 up-time, and utilizing event driven paradigms.
- 2+ years demonstrable experience in microservice design and using big data or NOSQL in the data layer.
- Demonstrable experience applying several developer tools for solutions utilizing C#, .NET Core, Java, Python, REST, WebAPI, Spring, JSON, XML, NOSQL, and others
- Prefer Candidate to have intrinsic curiosity to explore innovative solutions and prototype MVPs
- Prefer: Workday experience
- Prefer: Applied experience in Data Centric architectures.
- Prefer experience working in Capital Markets, Insurance.
